For equally optimized and stylized and contentized sites is more weight given to *.com then *.info?

If so then is it really considerable? A website is a website, no?

You are proposing an hypothesis out of no where and asking for an answer :).

Firstly any source or indications that says dotcom has heavier weightage than dotinfo?

Yeah it was actually a continuation to the more simple question I am now asking "is a .com weighted heavier than a .info"

Have not read anything in SEO that says that, so my answer would be no, to the best of my knowledge.

I think there was threads made about this before, and the answer was that they are considered exactly the same.

.Com is just more well known, and easier to remember.

I agree with wreckage, overall I think there is no big difference in weight but .com is more easily remembered so maybe theoretical weight , lol

There is no difference in weight. This was confirmed by matt cutts in one of his blog post. If you search for "Search marketing" in google, you will see aaron wall's website (search-marketing.info) is ranking pretty high. (Even before many .coms).

.COM is more popular and easy to remember. So if you are starting a new website, get a .com

It doesn't really matters, if you build keyword you can rank easily with .info also

Yeah, but people usually think .com is more professional.

From the google point of view, why .com should be more important than .info? this make no sense.

Its only the webmasters, who say that the .info domains are scam domains...
I have a .info site, that is almost a year now and it ranks #1 at many keywords, where its better than much older and bigger .com domains.
So don't worry, just do it

And on the how people remember it, if you have a good .info domain, people will remember it. Slovenia.info is the best domain for turist info on SLovenia (just for an example)

Google's official stance on the effect of TLDs on SERPs is that there is none. They are all valued the same.

it matters if you really want to get your website in the long run, you will want to get your visitors back after they visited you once.

More weight is never given to any particular tld in general terms, it really depends on the content and other extraordinary factors.... I have seen countless info domains in the number one page.... Didn't you?
