Hi guys, Im still working on my site, i think the design is almost there, but i do think i need some small graphics here and there to brighten it up. im thinking red. www.wormdrowners.com what do you think ? Thanks in advance, Tommy
yea i think its good . Ur website is so much speedy and simple as like as official. I think in the first step its the better from all . be a good result ......
Looks kinda like a MFA site but not too extreme, simple enough and i like it, maybe a little more web2.0 look on banner, apart from that its fine.
This may not be relevant, but in my opinion when u have a fluid (or liquid) page its best to set the outside background (body) color 1 shade darker than ur container background, so if ur container is #ffffff or white the make the body: #efefef.
G'day Tommy You need to work on the title of your site. It is hard to read the grey text, and it is a bit boring. When people visit your site, you want them to see the title "WORMDROWNER.COM" so that the title of the site sticks in their head. You need to concentrate more on content and less on ads. At the moment you are concentrating more on ads, then content. People visit your site to find out about fishing, not to look at ads. You need to concentrate on giving users what they want, not what you just want to give them. Good luck with your site. Cheers
I'd like to clarify this some, (I'm not trying to bash you Jake) and say that: 2 ads is not focusing more on ads than content, the problem with his ads is that he doesn't have them separated out from his content (and putting ads under your navigation so they appear to be apart of your navigation is sneaky at best and terrible at worst). Also: As far as making your site's name as big and flashy as possible wont necessarily get users to remember your site, what will get them to remember your site is a professionally designed logo with a simplistic banner. That way the concentrate less on the fish trying to jump up a waterfall and more on your site's name and logo.
Cri2T, you are 100% right. From looking at his site though, I would say he had put more time and effort into getting the ads on the site, they are placed in prime position, and they provide basically half of the overall content of his site. I think he needs to focus more on providing users with useful information, as that is what attracts traffic. Ads should revolve around and fit in with the site, not the other way round, where the site is built around the ads. Ads that look like content can work great, but only if you have fantastic content, as people mistaken the similar looking ads for fantastic content. At the moment though with everything looking the same, and with pretty poor content, people are associating your content with ads, which is the wrong way round. As for the title, it doesnt need to be all bells and whistles. No need to spend a lot of money on it, and have it flahsing. You just need something that is easy to read and jumps out at it. The title at the moment is hard to read and doesnt jump out at all.
Sorry, but this site doesn't look that good to me. There are too many ads, and the header is hard to read... Just try and make the whole thing stand out a bit more, use brighter blues instead of dark colours, just the colours..
The header picture is blurred. If it was crisp and centered, I think that the website would look nicer. Maybe a more modern navigation menu.
