ok i am working on my first real site ever, its a blog, according to my ad impressions, i get less than 200 views a day..

for the longest time the only thing that showed up on google when you type in my sites name is one post about something that i was one of the first sites to talk about it...

i use forums to market my site and now when you type in my sites name in google you just see forum post...

now i started using youtube to market my site, with a link to my site on youtube channel and a link to a related post in each video description, and now when you type in my site name in google the first thing you see is the uk version of my youtube channel???? and forums post...even when i put .com at the end it still shows the youtube channel and not my site...

How long or how do i make it so that when you type in my sites name on google it shows the actual main site first in the list!!?!?!?!?!

You optimize your home page for that keyphrase. You must have a good domain name to want to search engine optimize for it, considering each page can only be optimally optimized for 1 or 2 key phrases. If your domain name isn't searched for often, then this strategy would be an incredible waste.

its not search for a lot, but i dont see how its a waste...when i wanna go to a site i didnt bookmark i dont type in the url, i go to google and type in the name of the site, and 99% of the time the first site on list is the main page of the site except in my case!!!!

Well if they're searching specifically for your site, and that forum post shows your site, they'll be able to find it from there. It's a bit more of a "hassle" if it can even be called that. Unless the phrase can bring in random searchers, it's hardly of importance.

That logic doesn't make much sense.

First of all, if someone knows the name of your site, they'll type it in, and go to it directly, rather than going to google to search for it first. Just because you waste your time doing this, doesn't mean very many other people do.

Second, the whole idea of optimization is to bring NEW visitors to your site. Not people that already know the name of it and have already been there.

It's an absolute waste to optimize your homepage for the key phrase of your domain name, unless that domain name is searched for often.

How old is the domain name, and how long have you been working on your SEO ? how many backlinks do you have from trusted sites use yahoo explorer to check as google sucks a bit at back link checking.

Could be long until the search engine found your own domain link are stronger than the link on other people's domain. Internet is all about competition. pages are competing against other pages no matter who owns it. :)

You need to get some nice one way backlinks from other related sites using your keywords so that they point to the site you want ranked highest and get the extra pagerank authority.

There's your answer and how to do it, now it's up to you to put some action to it.

Maybe, maybe not. The point is that it doesn't matter. At all.

Sorry but I disagree, many people especially those who have G as there homepage, will search for the name of a site. Either because they forget the exstension (.com,.co.uk etc.) or because it's kind of a lazy option because it's less to type and then you can click.

It is good to ensure your site appears first in the instance when your site name is typed in.

Ensure the general things are correct, i.e the title of your page, meta keywords (even though they hardly matter) all contain your site name. Also make sure more links point to your homepgae from other sources with the anchor text of your site name. This is the main key. By anchor text I mean set up the links to your homepage as follows:
    <a href="yoursite.com" title="your site name">YOUR SITE</a>

Also your description can be modified, i.e what appears under your site title in G by adding the meta description tag in your head
