I am still analysing what I should do.. the phpld directory is a nice script in my opinion, it has lots of features with mods etc, and I have the possibility to extend the directory site to a fully loaded directory site with all kind of possibilities. Wordpress is in my opinion very well, especially in SEO and that's probably the reason I want to build a directory site with Wordpress since I know how powerful the SEO is with Wordpress. So my question is which option is the best option in perspective of SEO. I really have no idea how powerful the SEO is with the phpld script and whether it even comes close to Wordpress. Anyone an idea? Thanks, reps will be given.
If you are planning to build a 'web directory' then phpld (or directory scripts) should be your choice. There are plug-ins for wordpress that will make it act like a web directory but wordpress is essentially a blogging platform and not a directory platform. You should evaluate phpld as well as other directory scripts before taking any decision.

I would suggest you for PhpLD... wordpress is basically a blogging platform.. and will require constant update for SEOing
Well, if you were smart you would intergrade phpLD into Wordpress, allowing you to also host a article submission site on top of your web directory; but hey that's how I would do it. Also, consider this to promote proper Pagerank building (since web directories earn more paid submissions with high PR).... Instead of having people link to the homepage itself have them link directly to the category they are submitting too, trust me works wonders and building Pagerank to your inner web pages.

Yes, but you'll benefit more by using Wordpress as the actual CMS and phpLD as the actual link directory itself.
Think this way... phpld has been built to be a web directory script while wordpress is a blogging platform. If you are willing to set up a new directory then go for phpld or any other directory script. I have quite a few directories on phpld and I know there are some mods available that can integrate wp content into the directory. The script is SEO friendly probably as much as WP is. What you guys fail to understand is that WP is SEO friendly not just because of the platform itself but because it is a platform where you have to add fresh, unique content on a regular basis. Do the same with your directory, rewrite all the descriptions so they will be unique, add at least a new article each day and you'll see there is no difference between wp and phpld. The trouble with directories is that 90% of them lack of fresh, unique content Hope this helps
Hello, am sure that your main concern is to have a directory site that has the same power as wordpress. PHPLD has rss feeds which u can submit just like wordpress. Wordpress gets indexed faster because its a blog. Am thinking that u have lots of love for wordpress and just like me, i have used it on my directory and it gets indexed first and good rankings of course!! bottom line, use wordpress...
Alternatively kill two birds with one stone by using the phpLynx script which has both article-writing/submitting features built in, as well as a wide (and probably biggest in its price region) range of features WordPress is great for blogging, but would take a lot of effort to integrate phpLD with it - so why waste time?
