Lots of talk right now about Google testing out new 'social media' type stuff, where rankings will place more emphasis on ratings users give a site and comments, what do you guys think? http://theanalyticsguru.wordpress.c...ne-optimization-googles-new-search-interface/ Read that for little bit more info (Not my site but has good info) I think this could harm a hell of a lot of businesses that use Google to make their money, it's going to be ten times harder than it is now to make cash I reckon. What do you think?
I can see the future now, lots of companies in India selling reviews to the desperate webmasters, the same way as you can buy links on social bookmark sites ike facebook, myspace ect, and buy diggs and stumbles
Manipulation will always happen but certainly with more emphasis on user votes and comments which could happen then it will be unreal, it would probably be pretty easy to get your rivals ranked down and you ranked up.
Dont worry about it, Google is way too friendly to end users and they want to get away from such manipulations from webmasters, so, when they make and finally implement a plan like this, they will make it damn sure that the users will get the most unbiased stuff from them, thus it will be quite necessary for G to maintain its quality by avoiding manipulations. And we all know that Google is quite bloody good at that.
Well I think when it comes to seo for the future we need to start looking in more how to expose our brand and not just seo. When you expose your brand it become like social media people know your brand and start referring other people to your services.
I think SEO will remain the main factor to determine your chances in the marketing game. And of course the content will probably remain the main factor (not the only one though!) when we are talking of SEO!
