Keep in mind that PR is changing all the time and that the Google Toolbar shows a snapshot of your PR whenever Google updates it. They claim to update it every 3-4 months. My guess is that it should happen sometime soon.

Your best bet is to continue building quality, relevant links to your site to rank higher in the SERPs and bring more traffic. PR is meaningless without traffic.

    Hope that helps!

    Quantity = zip

Get yourself one high-quality link and you'll get PR.

I've got sites with like 2 links that are PR2. You don't need 50 million crappy links.

In the end, look for quality links.

everyone says that Page Rank (PR) has nothing to do with SERP, most of us are worried about getting a higher PR. When you browse through the top sites in Google, you will find that Google shows the sites that do have some decent PR. One way or other, it can be understood that Google Algorithm is based on the Page Rank of the site.

Having PR5 or 6 means having backlinks with high PR as well. but it's not related to SERP. I can show you a website with PR6 that have no traffic, and a website with PR2 with 1000s of hits a day, as well as top ranking results. It's good to have a high PR, but it's not everything
    Cheers

Yeah, its not everything but it seems pretty big.

In one of my most competitive keywords I'm up against sites and deep pages with PR 3 to PR 5... now sometimes in the top 10 the PR3 pages outrank the PR5 because of better optimization on-page and in anchor text, but there are simply no PR1 pages on the top 20.

I would say it is because the links that are linking to your website are PR0? I am guessing that is correct?

The number of backlinks dont suggest PR, You can get a pr6 even in 10 quality backlinks, but with that amount you could get a pr1-pr2 for sure, wait for an update !

I have over 400 back links for a website of mine and I have still PR0.

However. None of them have PR. They are all PR0 links.

    Is is why.

You can't say it has "nothing" to do with SERPs, because we don't know the algo.

However, you can say it has possibly "little" to do with SERPs, because we can see PR2 pages listed higher than PR 3, 4, 5 pages all day long.

I see only a few indexed pages and alexa rank of 10 mil + meybe focus on traffic and not on PR? how important is PR if you don't have any traffic.

Does anyone else see links to this site?

You will just have to wait for the page rank update to come round. You will just have to keep building links and content and I'm sure you will get a pr2/3.

PR may effect SERP, however, PR does not effect most of the people looking at the site. 98% of the end users out there really have NO CLUE what that little green bar means on their tool bar. Focus on the human traffic and the google traffic second. If ya do, you may find that you are really putting google first!

High quality links certainly count for something, and one of the reasons for that is, many high quality sites focus on humans rather then search bots. People trust bigger names on top of that, so if you can get linked from a larger site that can increase your human trust. Increase your human trust and you'll find other humans linking to you (freely even!).

In the end it IS all about the end user.

You only have 1 link to a site that has no PR. Your PR is probably correct.
