Article Indexing question

Ok So I submitted 10 articles to ezine throughout last week. About 5 made it to the first page for their respective keyword almost instantly or within 24 hours of going live. But only stayed there for 1 day then got lost in the mix.

How do I keep my articles on the 1st page?

Build backlinks to the page your article appears on.

Which pretty much defeats the purpose, writing content and adding it to your own domain is a far better option than mucking around with article directories. Build content for your own site, instead of building it for someone else to make Adsense revenue off.

In most cases you are right sweetfunny but is depends what the purpose of your article is for. When I am affiliate marketing I can dominate the SE's very fast using article directories. For example it takes a lot less backlinks to an article on ezinearticles.com than to a page on my website to rank for a specific keyword.

Now if he/she is in it for the backlinks only you can't beat article marketing in my opinion.

Page remains on top as long it remains in high pr category pages of article directories. After some time due to new submissions your page creeps to next pages where there is less pr than first page in article directory. IMO, Keeping your page's link in high pr pages will keep it in top position.

Sweetfunny I agreed with you but if you want traffic on your site then you need to publish your articles on popular articles directories and you will get back link as well I know content is king but we can't ignore our traffic and backlinks from article directories

The article will only remain on the front page if the niche is fairly dormant otherwise Ezine Articles feeds fresah ne content all the time and so it should.

I am in the middle of a one man effort to get up to the first three pages of Google for my Florida Online Real estate School. The url is www.stevesimon.us
I have written many articles and am distributing them widely over many article directory sites.
Is it better to try and get me articles (less articles) in higher ranked directories as opposed to just writing good articles and getting them out to as many article directories as I can?
I also have a few other domains that are sitting under my main domain. They are in the www.stevesimon.us domain, but they are reached by their own url. meaning www.simonremindsme.com appears as a stand alone domain to a visiter but it resides on my host's servers under the www.stevesimon.us domain. Can I write articles and post for all of my other domains without hurting the main website's ranking?
    Thank,
All help re: SEO of the main site will be appreciated:)

article directories are only good for backlinks. use them to drive traffic to your site but don't bother trying to get them to stay on the front page, there is little point and you can use your efforts to promote your own site
