Indeed it does, It's very simple to install to, If you need any support let me know. Although you should be fine
Ok thanks a lot for your help. And can I host ANY of the reseller plans? Because when I go to the Order page, it only calls the 2nd and 3rd plan 'Reseller Hosting' Plans, but can I also host a reseller with the first plan, The Reseller Revolution Plan?
Ok thanks, both are trustable and reasonable? (I can do the things I need to do with the domain, as setting nameservers etc. (sorry, haven't bought a domain name before yet, usually the hosting did it for me ))
Well lets' see: Business license Tax ID (if in the US) Bank account Website Software licenses Long term business plan and goals and financial planning/outlook Budget for tax debt Attorney fees Accountant fees Advertising Server administration and a bunch of other stuff that you haven't thought of in the first place. Here's a good guide on how to start a web hosting business. I hope this helps!
Thanks a lot! Well, I don't need a Tax ID (because I live in The Netherlands), but where/how can I get a Busines License? And is this needed to become a verified web hosting company, right? Will have a look at the guide, it's just what I needed!
Find your country gov's business site and look through some of the documents to find related businesses and articles that supports your field.
most hosting sites you see are resellers, afterall low maintenance always should be favoured and you should avoid spending a load of money wherever possible. its not too difficult, and being a reseller is a sound job as long as you get hits and provide a good service. which is easy. its incredible hard though if your bone idle. thats why some people find it difficult.
Hits I can get I think, I'd just advertise on my site which had over half million hits per day And on that site they love the service, and my support. So I think that should be fine too, also got PHP Live Support which I'll use almost 24/7 for my Hosting Site. Thanks for the help all, the only thing I've gotta do now yet, is think of some great name for my Hosting Company, site domain, and I hope I'll know some tomorrow and will be able to manage everything tomorrow so it can be online this week. Cheers ^^
I could give you 50 gb space and 300gb (more if you need it) reseller package for £40 or $80 a year, with a .com domain It has WHM and Cpanel Callum Phenix Geeks and Co If you are intrested pm me or email me (sales@geeksandcohosting.com)
Why when for the same price he can get 1TB of bandwidth and alot more space. And actually for an extra $15 he could get a dedicated server.
Well, site5 the Revolution Plan is some more expensive (about $240 per year) And some less space, though it has more Bandwith and Client Exec.. Thanks
Hmm, is Site5 really good? Because, read this: http://www.hostsearch.com/review/site5_internet_solutions_review.asp http://briar.cc/2007/10/23/site5-troubles-or-watch-me-abuse-emphasised-text/ Made me doubt...
Exactly. I have all the licenses in place for my own web host, and domain registrar. I just have not had time to launch them. Right now I am debating working out a service contract with a company to run the host for me. I would then go and buy up smaller hosts selling off clients and consolidate them until I have a stable business. However, finding the right person is key, and making sure you have a signed operating agreement, legal, is essential so they are not trying to pirate your customer base and investment.
You need to get very good customer services to serve your customer 24/7 online. If not, you will not get any clients~ In this competitive marketing, satisfaction customer service is the crucial part of the business.
Start with a cheap reseller. However, it *must* be a reliable reseller. I would recommend resellerzoom - I used them for over a year and a half and had no problems whatsoever, except 1 period of downtime which lasted like an hour. Once you have around 20 clients, move to a VPS. Get comfortable with root access/ssh, then once your budget allows for it move to your own dedicated server. I would not stay on a reseller for longer than 20 clients, as resellers are very insecure considering hundreds of accounts are hosted on the same server. Think about it, there's a very good chance that some account on the server could have a vulnerability.
Why do people assume that it is easy to just setup a "webhosting company" ! The business of webhosting requires a lot more knowledge than just buying a reseller package on someone's already overcrowded machine and then setting up a website. As the market is so saturated with webhosts, you will need a USP (Ultimate Selling Point) and a large budget for advertising...you also need to get the price right and not fall into the trap of overselling. I was a webhost for 6 years and the amount of hardwork that is required is massive compared to the income and profit it returns. Everyone wants cheap hosting nowadays and this means that you will need to underprice your competitors just to win more customers. Too many newbies start up as webhosts with little or no knowledge of the market/server administration hoping to get rich quick....It just doesnt work like that anymore.
