V7N that name sucks. Why anyone would pay that for a crappy name is crazy. I don't care what traffic it is getting, besides everyone knows that webmaster orientated sites don't make much for the traffic because most webmasters who visit sites don't click ads or buy anything COMPARED to your average site.

They could make more money due to the large volume of traffic. Most forum owners just don't pursue the money.

I read that the profits at V7n were huge.

I heard that too, but I still wouldn't pay that kind of money for a forum with a crappy name. It doesn't even sound like it means anything memorable. Im skeptical of the money being made too.

Then is it safe to say that the new owner did not buy the forum for it's name but for other reasons.

What about V7n do you like? Because it is a 3 letter domain name? Big freaking deal. If I put a new engine in a yugo will you buy that too? :D

Oh please.. That site is earning 40k per month. Who cares about the domain name when you're earning that much?

I dont' believe its earning that much for my reason said earlier. And also no guy is gonna sale it for 220 if it can earn more than twice that in a year (if it was making 40K a month). I bet it doesn't even make 10K a month. If I was gonna plop down 220K, it better be a damn nice sounding domain and not some 3 letter domain that doesn't make sense. Maybe thats just me though.

You're wrong then. v7n is a huge webmaster forum and nobody is going to pay that much for a forum without any proof of earnings.

If that forum is really making 40K a month or even 10K for that matter, then the seller is an absolute fool for selling it to begin with.

Its not just a forum. There are other sections of the site that contribute to the income. The owner already said he doesn't have the time to maintain the site anymore because he needs to concentrate on his degree now.
