how can I find out the exact keyword that was searched?

    Hi Everyone!

I'm running a campaign that is targeting keywords by exact match and phrase match. Right now I have no way of knowing what the actual keywords are that people search for and since I use dynamic titles, it gets me untargeted traffic when my keyword is shown on a search that contains my keyword but has nothing to do with what I am selling.

I have already built up a "negative keywords" list, however I am sure that I am still getting a lot of untargeted traffic. The google analytics stats do not show me the exact keyword that the users searched for. Is there any way to find that out? Would I have to install another counter to find this info or what other alternatives are there? If anyone can help me with this I would truly appreciate it! :D

Did you build your landing pages URLs with GOogle URL builder ? It will help a lot to find exact keywords that your visitors searched to find your site. As per my experience, I'm able to track visitors side performance at pixel to pixel basis i.e. I know all clicks of my visitors, referrals, source etc. You must do research on your Google analytics and use proper negative keywords with broad and exact match combination to keep your visitors more targeted.

Simply go to the reporting section of your account, there is such thing as a "search query report" which will show the exact reffering search.

Occasionally you will see “other unique queries” where it won't actually tell you what you want to know. In this case, follow this tutorial to get past that:

    Thanks!

I added the custom report, but looks like I need to wait a few hours for the data to start showing. Does it show it for all previous searches as well? or only from now on?

I think you must set your sites theme. then take time to analyze your competitors on using the same field as you do
