Sure there are plenty of Iraqi insurgents. But there are more Iraqis in the Iraqi Police and New Iraqi Army. At the height if the Iraq war 120 Jihadists where infiltrating into Iraq per month. The number has dropped to approx 25 per month.

Afganistan is the new jihadi magnet. If we aren't lilling them over there, they will be over here killing us.

Afghanistan has been drawing a fresh influx of jihadi fighters from Turkey, Central Asia, Chechnya and the Middle East, one more sign that al-Qaida is regrouping on what is fast becoming the most active front of the war on terror groups.

Local Afghans in the border regions are increasingly concerned about the return of the "Araban" or "Ikhwanis," as Arab fighters are known in the Pashtun language, Williams wrote in a CTC paper. He said there were rumors of hardened Arab fighters from Iraq training Afghan Pashtuns in the previously taboo tactic of suicide bombing.

Turkey also appears to have emerged as a source of recruits. Williams estimated as many as 100 Turks had made their way to Pakistan to join the fight in Afghanistan.

America, the greatest threat to world peace. Ever.

Is it just me or has the media really been kicking ass lately?

    You mean this?

Gov't: 7 militants killed in eastern Afghanistan

The statement says the clash on Monday happened in Wanat, a village in Nuristan province where on Sunday nine U.S. soldiers were killed when militants breached their remote base.

It says that an "Arab terrorist" was also captured during the operation.

Which is where it always should have been before the government decided to move away from the war on terror and invade Iraq ;)

Iraq had NOTHING to do with the 'war on terror'

The war on terror only fooled people into thinking the war on Iraq was necessary. A scared population did not think to question their leader in a time of war.

Iraq had nothing to do with 9/11 or the terrorists we are fighting before we invaded.

You have claimed over and over Iraq/Saddam funded 9/11 yet our own government says they did not, all the experts claim they did not, yet you know more than all of them?

    Talk about 'keeping pace'

in my opinion the attack was necessary and if we consider the ease of taking over Iraq the only mistake was breaking up the Iraqi government, the US should have kicked the extremists from the government, pay a lot of money to the militia's and leave the country that way.

Yes necessary for YOU because the US tax payer gets to pay for it so that you feel a bit safer on your end of the world.

If you would just go to the Middle East and Northern Africa you would know something about Iraq, Iran, Saudi Arabia, Morocco, Afghanistan and Pakistan. That would bring you up to speed. Go, take a tour, have a soda, and try to defend Iraq when you get back.

I thought you were the expert in everything? You need to experience life in the Middle East first hand. Seriously go visit the Middle East on your next vacation. It will be the best money you ever spent. Your whole outlook on life and the US would change.

Never have I said I am the expert on 'everything'

Going to a country however does not make it a fact that it supports the terrorists we are fighting, nor does it make it that they funded 9/11 now does it?

While some are interesting and does make me at least partially wonder about the official story I do not believe there is anywhere near enough to believe in a conspiracy theory.

At most that possibly some of the conclusions were off, simply because much of it is a guessing game, trying to figure out what would have been the most likely result/cause.

It's pretty hard to believe much of anything these days, but I for one believe that Iran, Saudi Arabia, opium trade from Afghanistan and Pakistan, and various other semi-theocratic states fund many of the Islamic extremists and it was definitely Islamic extremists that flew those planes. Saddam was still a piece of shit however, and I do think it was the US's duty to solve that particular problem, I just think it was the wrong way at the wrong time.
