    Its hard for me so I'll just explain... and yes, this shoud be moved to general discussion.

    First monitor, Windows XP. Modified custom color skinning pack. With rocket-dock, interactive background (some simple HTML and Launchy.

    Second: Ubuntu desktop. Custom design, skinned like a mac. Cube design, always "snowing" on desktop. Interactive background (mail application) skinned in well. With AWN (avant window navigator)

    Finally... another Ubuntu (and XP) : Slick, crisp design. AWN installed, skinned icons, merged with XP with virtual box. XP toolbar skinned to fit in.

    I "modded" my desktop years ago ans still to this day love it, but have forgotten just about half the stuff I used to know. :)

    Currently, my windows box looks like a bomb went off lol.... I sort of like the ubuntu splash screen so I keep that on my linux machine.

    Great desktop there kojak, mine have simple Austria field but almost covered with my folders and some important files I need immediately. :rolleyes:

    Back when my computer only has 512MB of RAM I found it very useful to make everything default. It really makes your machine look like Windows 98 but it's a good, simple way to speed up your computer.

    Now that my computer has just under 2GB of memory I can have a good looking desktop with speed and style. :cool:
