Google seems to index web sites anywhere between one week or three months.

I've seen them get picked up in as little as 24 hours, but a week to a month is more common.

I redesign my one of my web sites and make a mess with sitemap. Yesterday I resubmit the sitemap and Google almost immediately read it, but it will take some time to reindex the site. Here is what I read in webmaster tools:

    Sitemap stats

    Total URLs: 5785
You have recently submitted one or more Sitemaps for this site. Processing Sitemaps may take some time. Check again later to see if pages from your Sitemaps are included in Google's index.

Get some links back to your site and it will be cached fairly quickly. If you don't have any links it can take forever. I've had sites indexed the same day I put it up just by getting one link from another well respected site.

You can use web directories to get some links and your site should show up within a week or two.

One link from a Google authority site will get you index within a day. If you can't get that then it's weeks of work building smaller back links. That's why its easier once you have a few good sites already up an running. For the beginer it is much more work!

If you add your site to the webmaster tools provided by google, it can take anywhere from a week to a month to be indexed. Your best bet is to get a backlink from a high PR website which will get you indexed within a week

two months is an average, but if your site already has good content then it can be much quicker. So don't rush to get it uploaded

I just checked on iwebtool and other seo sites - I don't even have backlinks anymore  I use to have more than 1000, some of them PR4, PR3

Is this related with sitemap not beeing included in Google's index yet?
