I decided to go back to the first logo I used. After I stepped away for a few hours and looked at it with fresh eyes, something didn't look right about the 2 dog logo.
OK I changed my logo again by adding another dog in it on the right. I think I settled now on the logo. I also filled out my template more to get a better idea of what it will look like once content is added.
I just fixed up the template, so you should get a much better idea of how it looks. Thoughts so far now?
I liked your site but i would recomend changing the header a little bit. I personally prefer bright headers. What about adding some colors to the header and displaying one picture of a dog or a lot of such pictures? I don't think 2 pictures is a good desicion.
Hey I like the dog picture on the left. Pretty cute Where do you get it anyway? Your own dog? Don't worry, the domain name should be SEO friendly and I think you don't have to worry much about the design part. Just concentrate on contents since it's pretty lacking.
Yeah I haven't added any content yeah. I just finished the template so now its just adding content from here on out. Im getting conflicting opinions here, you say I don't need to worry about design much now, the guy before you didn't like my header though.
Ahhh I think I understand what you and a couple others saying. I just added one more dog. A golden retriever in the middle. The header now looks even better. Thanks!
I think that the site name is ok, but if the other name is more descriptive you may want to use it. I like the layout of the site it will be easy to use for visitors. I think the dog you are using as a log are very cute, but I think maybe if you use a puppy playing with a toy, a dog eating food, or a dog laying in a dog bed, these would represent your site better, being that it is a site about dog products. Just a thought I had. Nice site, keep up the good work.
Good idea about the showing dogs playing with toys etc, Ill take note of that and look for something to fit. I picked happypetdog because it brings out good feelings, its a little shorter and seems more valuable and interesting of a name than the other one.
OK I changed the logo showing one puppy playing with toy and another on a dog. I think it helps bring out the theme and the domain name even better. OK So I finally setlled on the logo. This is the kind of logo I want. (This is the best I can do anyways So you don't like the domain too much? The other domain is longer and even though it is more descriptive keyword wise it doesn't give the happy feeling my domain name does. Having a domain name with "product" contained in it for a product rating site, isn't exactly that exciting is it?
Do you think the name happypetdog.com fits the anchor text targeting for keywords such as Dog Products ?
Thanks. Ive finished for now with the logo and the design plans. Now I just need to add things to the site people can rate/review.
I just added my first official entry for karma organic dog food. You can see it as the first product on the front page http://www.happypetdog.com/ How it is listed in the dog food review category http://www.happypetdog.com/category/dog-food-reviews/ Individual listing where you can write/read reviews and see related products http://www.happypetdog.com/karma-organic-dog-food/
