    I have also checked his e-mails, besides the fact he is in violation of RFC-822 Section 6.2.3 by not accepting domain literals, his sales email is also working fine which makes it quite obvious he isn't making much of an effort to refund me

    Why on earth would you pay for a server through egold? You kind of deserve to be scammed doing something like that.

    For big things always pay by credit card through paypal. So you can charge back paypal or credit card.
