Adsense and Firearms - What is the deal?

I have been running adsense on one of my sites for years now and really like the program. I would like to use adsense on one of my forums where the subject is firearms but I don't want to be banned.

The reason why I ask "What is the deal?" is because I see adsense being
    used on MANY similar boards.

    gunreports.com

    usacarry.com

    familyfriendsfirearms.com

    hipointfirearmsforums.com

    antiqueguns.com

    muzzleloadingforum.com

I have contacted adsense but no reply. Any thoughts? Thanks!

    Thanks!

Mmmm, I don't really recommend it. Find other affiliate programs.

I think it's a good niche... firearms and ammo are expensive so the CPC I think would be high..

I think that adsense would work well with firearms, though I don't know if they allow it.

Well here it is from their TOS

Sites displaying Google ads may not include:

    * Sales or promotion of weapons or ammunition (e.g., firearms, fighting knives, stun guns)

My site is no different from the bunch I listed bove currently using adsense. I'm not "promoting" or "selling" firearms but they are being discussed on the board I would like to use adsense on.

I have tried a couple of others but they put up junk ads. I'd really like to use Google.

How long is the wait to get a response from Google? Any ideas. I emailed them about 5 days ago and have heard nothing.
