I want to change my SEO business plan and wanted some much needed advise... Let me start by saying that I really think I am cutting myself short on my SEO services and am really looking for a better approach to make sure I am paid properly for my services. Most of my clients are service industry so it is hard to track sales leads unless I use some type of phone tracking service. Now, the problem is some of my current customers may not want to pay an additional $30.00 bucks per month for this service. How will I track their lead conversion rate without tracking phone calls? Is their a fair formula to use for unique hits? Lets discuss.... FYI - Currently, I am charging a flat fee depending on the industry and coverage areas. The coverage areas are local (city) listings, state listing and national listings. I want to totally get rid of this business plan.
Do what ever other smart SEO consultant does and use tracking and goals in Google Analytics. Track incoming hits for specific keywords, then track them and see what pages they go too. Are they buying a product online; set the target goal in the thank you page. Are they filling out a contact form; set the target goal in the submission recieved page. Etc, Etc, Etc
Dang! It was right under my nose. I hate that! I guess this would be the next best thing. Even though this is still not accurate. Thanks for the info. Man, I wish I would have added phone tracking in my costs from the beginning.....
