I know that a backlink from a high PR site is 'worth' more than a backlink from a PR 0 site. But what if the actual backlink is coming from a subdirectory? Like: www.xxxxx.com has a PR of 6 but the actual link is coming from www.xxxxx.com/topics/subtopic, for example, which has a PR of zip Do you still get the benefit of a '6'?
That's what I guessed. It's the home page that has the rank So when someone offers to submit your site to pr4 or 5 or 6 directories, the PR part is really worthless, right. I mean whatever directory you submit to you have to submit to a Category and chances are that category page has a PR of 0, right?
Your link needs to be on the page that the PR is on in order for it to be passed to you. You still get the benifit of having a backlink ( if the page is indexed and crawled regularly ) you just don't get the PR juice if it's zero.
Yes, exactly what I thought. It's just that I'm wondering how many newbies don't know that and PAY to have their sites submitted to high PR directories just because they are being promoted that way. I do it for free with tools like resellergo.com
