Orkut ! thats the final word for Indian promotion :p !

MOST ... or lemme just reframe it 90 % Kiddies from India are ON ORKUT! (if u dont know what orkut it ! its a SN by google > orkut.com)

There are zillions of communities and it is REAL time consuming but still results are good ! ... Since college and major school are starting this or next month !

I suggest target INDIA and Student community from INDIA!

Google rates are pretty high for Indian traffic ... unlike middle east !.......

I am never worried about where to find proxies. But I still don't understand how the proxy could be sold for money?

    @Justin: Well dude ...
Things in proxy business are like ... Proxies are always in demand ! ... As even proxies get banned on networks !....((colleges schools offices etc))

But people ALWAYS want to use facebook myspace etc or download stuff ... So there is always a need for qUaLITY proxies

So people start proxies(networks) and popularize them all over ! .. and after they become popular ...sell it off .......

    Get it ?

Was there a reason that you know of why your account was banned?

This is the first I've read of a "proxy site." I'm a bit confused as from the very first post in this very long thread it seems presumed that readers are oriented to what this whole process is. Can you point me to a general narrative tutorial on this subject, market, user building, and resell issues? I sense there is something in here that may be helpful for a product we're involved in launching, but am very unclear and not up to reading 411 pages to figure it out by deduction.

I'll wrap it up in a nut shell for you. A proxy site (Aka, a Proxy Browser) is a script (CGI or PHP are the main two) that acts like a browser would where you'd surf the web via an address bar, except the major difference is, the main purpose of a proxy browser is to mask your IP.

So basically, proxy's allow you to browse the web 'anonymously'.

That was a fairly bad description in my eyes, but yes, there we go.

hello proxy webmasters im trying to do a bit of reasearch which i need to you to help me out with.

Me and my network engineer and developer are working on a new type of hosting system, that is designed to with stand large amounts of traffic and large changes in traffic to help aid proxy owners and people who suffer from going down in a dig or slashdot ect.

The system involves having several servers racked all at once being clustered and load balances together but only using servers as and when they are needed. so when traffic of a site or a server starts to reach its max capacity we can instantly interface with our api and bring another server online into the network in a matter of minutes. preventing the servers from crashing and causing downtime, also from a redundancey point of view if a server goes down for what ever reason then we can instantly switch over to another one.

You may think this isnt financally viable having all these servers up at once but after searching and long discusions we managed to find a dc to only change us for what we use!

What i want to know is, if this was offered to you on digitalpoint would you take this up over the traditional hosting route and would any proxy owners like to test this out.

We looking to offer shared hosting on this platform, and dedicated options so can do what is said above but not share the server with anyone elese

    thanks

yes load balaning within the cluster is involved but what is new is we have servers in our racks on stand by then we send a query to our api to instantly add a server to the cluster to provide more computing power during high times, so the servers dont crash under pressure, when the traffic dies back down we send another request and remove x number of servers from the cluster as there uneeded.

compared to traditional hosts where it takes them 24-48hours to get a new server online and serveral hours to get servers back online after they have crashed

Firstly servers shouldnt just crash under load or not, secondly your still just doing load balancing!

So, the try outs, will you have a proper page explaining the projects?
How much would it be to "test" the server?
