    Hi All,

So I built me first forum and averaging 20 sign-ups a day, with yesterday getting me over 100+ so the question is how do i monatise it?

i threw on adsense, with 0% results. is there anything like adbrite that pays better?

or a cost per impression that will at least earn my something?

    thanks

Private ads comes to mind, but remember forums suffer from severe ad blindness.

Create a "VIP / Paid Members" group. Find a program that will display ads to certain user groups, members in the VIP group do not see ads.

To make it a little more enticing, install a picture gallery. Only members in the VIP / Premium group can add pictures to their gallery, but everyone can see the pictures.

Create a few private sections in the forum that only VIP / Premium members can access. Everyone can see it, but only the paid members can access it.

Install a chat room and give only VIP members access. Or, give the VIP members their own private room inside the main chat room.

I also have a downloads section with hundreds of files. Paid members have unlimited downloads, basic members are limited to 5 downloads or 100 megs in 24 hours.

VIP / Premium members also get a badge next to their name.

Charge something like $3 a month to start out with. I charge $5 a month for VIP / Premium memberships on one of my sites.

Hi, I have a forum too, in my own experience adsense doesnt work with forums, at least it didn't work with my forum. I sell banner spots and I have very good results. You can add banner spots in the header, righ or left side bar, footer, and under the first post of every thread, you can also sell sitcky threads. :D

Adsense can work very well with a forum if the forum has the right niche. If we are talking about a general chat forum, then adsense pretty much sucks.

On the other hard, if the content is very specific you can make a killing on adsense.

You could try adbrite, or a cpm network.
