I have some domains from Yahoo and just got an email from them to inform me that: Beginning on July 1, 2008, Yahoo!'s annual domain renewal price increases to $34.95 per year.

Some places charge $6 I know, one of my other registrars also charges $30 for a 1 year domain renewal with no special service. Who would register a domain at such a place?

It looks like many person in the same boat! I heard that Yahoo make no profit with domain business and they are looking for the way to minimize this loss by increase domain prices. Yes, it is the time to act for Yahoo domains now. I have found new registar whonami.com with cheap domain transfers rates and I will start moving now!
As the increase infomation has been sent out by email from Yahoo and you see nothing about pricing increase from your Yahoo domain account so for sure, many persons (did not read the email well) will cry when they see the bill!!!

Such a huge jump in prices. Yahoo really disappoints a lot of people these days.

What a thief Yahoo is! Just transfer it to another registrar. It's just about $10/year

So you got suckered into the prices. And just the difficulty and the transfer process of having to cancel than to be able to transfer.

Curious why Yahoo would fo that. Wouldn't it just decrease their market share! Haha perhaps Yahoo is trying to devalue themselves so Microsoft is not interested in them anymore:D
