Hello All, As always I try to find out some things different on Google. This is related to Google SERP. I search in Google grey matter India the result is this given below. The thing is that title tag for this site is “Offshore Software Development India, Web Application Development, Portal Development: GMI†Why it showing grey matter India technologies. From where it’s getting results?? If your search GMI on Google it shows the correct title tag, but why not for the above keyword. I checked it with different site but with all sites title tag is coming in searches. As per my knowledge whenever we search in Google it shows the title tag and Meta description Why not in this case??? Needs your valuable suggestion???

Google does not show Meta description in SERPs - only part of the content of the page that includes your keyword
Please before reply make sure you are 100 % confirm. as i knew it shows Meta Description ....in SERP.
Sometimes it's not the meta description that matters. Your content is also taken into consideration. If you type "grey matter India", yes different results will show and some of it has the keyword embedded in the content and not title and meta tags like you always thought.
I checked with alots of web site the result is TITLE tag and META tag only........ my question is why???? and how google knows that its Grey matter india technologies (as showing in results)??? why its not showing grey matter india private limited??????
What have you "checked"? - it's a video by Matt Cutts explaining snippets - and clearly saying that the meta description is not the only thing that is used.
The title is shown like that because of the back link from Dmoz directory. The anchor text for the link in the Dmoz directory is "Grey Matter India Technologies". See it here : http://search.dmoz.org/cgi-bin/search?search=Grey+matter+india I have another example of a site which I did SEO for, if you need the proof. The snippet is not always the meta description, although most of the time we see the meta description in the search, it could be a part of the text within the content.
Thanks ....Alot...i got my ANS........ In SERP it shows The same TITLE and META Tag.....but these title and meta tag google can take it from website as well from open directory project. if you wants that always it shows the result from your website not from ODP you can add <META NAME="GOOGLEBOT" CONTENT="NOODP">
