I heard from lot of webmasters who is using entrecards that it is really useful for them to attract huge traffic. But I have started using it from the last week. Although my blog is getting at least 50 visitors per day (previously 10 visitors per day ), the traffic I am getting is really useless because most of the visitors hardly stays in the blog. DO YOU THINK ENTRECARD IS USELESS FOR BLOGGER? Before answering, please try to understand that Johnchow.com, problogger.com, etc. are using this service for their traffic.
I havent tried it because I read from a few others the same thing. Traffic, but dont even bother to comment in a blog-post...
Yes, useless. And that's answering after knowing those A-list bloggers use it... matter of fact, "If you didn't have Entrecard, your blog would have no traffic!" which also shows the high, VERY high bounce rate, few seconds people spend on your site, etc.
this traffic is called "bounced", which means that people don't spend more than 10 seconds on your site. The quality is same as you would pay for guaranteed traffic. But! The community is amazing and very supportive and if you write great and informative blog posts, you'll notice that bloggers will start reading and slowly buy surely you will get more readers, not just visitors!
Just read that Entrecard partnered up with SezWho. Looking in the email it works like this: By installing SezWho on your blog, others will earn credits by leaving comments, and you will earn credits when you comment on others. Looks like Entrecard finally trying to fix the interaction between bloggers. We will see if this helps.
Yep, entrecard has partnered with Sezwho and announced about it this morning. I didn't have time to look into it until this late afternoon and I think it makes perfect sense for everyone who has a blog. The installation is easy as 1-2-3, let's see if it really helps to get quality comments...
EntreCard is practicle for a new blog who doesn't have traffic. People who use it usually only want hits so they can do paid reviews. When the traffic and income get bigger they get off paid oplugs and entrecard to generate their own content and traffic.
Interesting thread... I just started using entrecard last week too, and have been watching my traffic stats with interest: I'm now getting between 40 and 80 uniques a day (was around 10 UVs before, my blogs still young!!), so traffics definitely up, but: bounce rate has shot up to an average of 80% for the past week, and; time on site has nosedived to around 20 seconds. I'm thinking the same as the OP, but my reasoning is this.... Yes, the traffic you receive is largely useless, i.e. people searching only for your entrecard widget, but out of the people who visit, I'm hoping I can 'pick up' a few more readers for my blog. If, over the course of a week, 300 "entrecarders" visit my blog, I'd hope that I can entice at least 2% or 3% of them to stick around and read what I have to say. I know that only equates to around 10 new readers, but when you're just starting out, thats a good jump in readership level!! Also, when your blog is new, it's a good idea to get your name out there. Even if people aren't hanging around your blog for whatever reason, at least you're getting hundreds of people aware that your blog exists. For what it's worth, I'm going to continue to use entrecard for the forseeable future, and I'll report back with any significant findings! All the best, John.
I have been using entrecard for my blog for about 3 weeks now and seen my traffic increase hugely. It is true that most of the traffic is pretty useless. But a percentage of Entrecarders (like me!!) do stick around and actually read the blogs that they are clicking on and I have had some comments left on my blog. For that reason and that it just helps generally to get your blog noticed I will be sticking with it for the forseeable future. The SezWho addition is an interesting development - let's see how that affects things.
The only advantage of using EC is: >>> earn credit and use it in advertising your site to other blogs. If your image is interesting, others will visit your site not to drop, but to discover what is your site about...
I added the Sezwho feature to our blog yesterday, we'll see if it really helps to get quality comments
Yes... I have also added SEZWHO to my blog to reduce the bounce rate. Hope I'll get good number of useful (????) visitors...
