articles ranking in SE's

i always read how ezine articles does very well in the google search engines. the first article i wrote went to number 1 on google for a few days for my targeted keyword phrase.

i looked again today and it's on page 2 somewhere. this might sound like a stupid question but do i still build backlinks for my article for it to rank in google, even though it's not a top level domain and it's ezine which must have thousands of back links already?

i notice for a lot of the products on clickbank, when searched for in google, it's an ezine article thats number 1. is this because the person has built lots of backlinks or is it because the article is a few months/over a year and has climbed to the top because google likes ezine?

appreciate if someone can clear this up for me, thanks.

Ezinearticles just has a lot of clout with google, that's why they rank high. I suggest that you just keep writing articles on your keyword so that they all get ranked high and you can get a bit of a monopoly on that keyword.

The reason you got bumped down is because other people know their SEO, and performed it better. In other words they probably outlinked you.

I use Bookmark Generation (in my sig), it allows you to enter URLs, keywords etc and it bookmarks it on autopilot from accounts you made automatically at all the different social bookmarking sites. I have over 200 so far.

My article ranking power is boosted like, 10x. And it doesn't stop ranking, because it keeps sending fresh links on autopilot, as it posts to your accounts at set intervals.

Ahh, I love forum marketing, at least I'm not trying to hide it ;)

lemon - you're seeing quantifiable results from bookmark generation? I'm using it too - although maybe not as much as you - I only have about 80 accounts so far ;)

it *seems* to be working as advertised - but I'm having a hard time really seeing if it's making any real difference.

I'm only using it on my web 2.0 sites/articles as I don't want these things linking directly to my own domains - it seems a little too risky. As anyone who looks closely will be able to tell these accounts are auto generated.

Yeah definitely, or else I wouldn't have mentioned it... NOBODY cares enough about their articles to build links to them, and even if there are EZAs on the google front page, that's a sign that I can kick them out on the same keywords, because I bet my ass they haven't pointed anything to there.

Google your phrase, if you see an EZA, just look at it's view count and see if it's doing good. Most likely the traffic is coming from Google.

Then just kick him out with Bookmark Generation, it rocks because it's automated.

Kind of mean to the other "author", but you know... eat or get eaten. This place we call the WWW is a jungle, if anything.

Using the social bookmark generation? Or just bookmarking yourself? If you do it yourself - which bookmarking sites do you use?

I tend to stumbleupon my own articles - and I've Propeller'd them some as well... but ... it's easy to abuse these things and get banned. I guess maybe the trick is to make a new account every day ;) or every other day anyway.

That's the site I use. You were the one who recommended that I bookmark my articles, so I did an experiment with an article I had at Goarticle… and I was impress!

I did get banned at Sphinn though :D… I'll just have to create a new account using a different email address the next time I’m bookmarking there.

socialmarker is nice... but it's a bit of work/time. Maybe it'll be a good thing to use on the articles that I get ranked high and I'm getting a lot of traffic from.

The bookmark generation thing is pretty fast to use but I don't think it's quite as effective as actually going through and using socialmarker one by one - partly because it doesn't include some of the best SB sites - I'm assuming that's because it won't work with them for some reason or another.

And yeah... The banning thing can be a bummer - not so much having to make a new account - but having the bookmarks you already did get deleted.

Yeah, I think I prefer to go through them one-by-one, just like I wouldn't trust an article submission software to do all the work. But Socialmarker does offer the task of saving your login and the information you are posting. So if you had already gone through and registered with all the bookmark sites, it's much easier the second time around.

Like Lemonarian was talking about bumping an Ezine article that is sitting at the #1 spot of google, I think I found the perfect Ezine article to bump.
This article has 24000+ viewers in two months. When I went to write an article for the same keyword, I check the stats again... and would you believe it, that within the 1/2 hour I took to write the article, the view had increased by almost 50!
The person who wrote that article must be making a killing! I want-in on the action too! :D

Go for it man. And the thing about Bookmark Generation is that they add new services all the time, they had some really cool updates 2 days ago, you should've gotten the email Zibblu.

Stumbleupon is useless, because it's just untargeted stumblers that get to it, and the links are nofollow, so google doesn't care either.
