4 year old site - limit to amount of backlinks per week/month?

For a 3 year old site, which has 450 recorded pages linking to it's homepage, is there a recommended limit to the amount of backlinks that should be obtained each month?

Does this amount differ if the backlinks are deep linked to various pages within the site?

 

wHILE making backlinks just remember one thing " Slow and steady always win the race " .........

 

35 / day is safe imho

 

Getting couple of strong backlinks will be a good steps to hold its ranking position and get even higher. Think of the quality, not the quantity.

 

As long as you are not getting more than a few hundred a day for a few days strait it should not be a problem!

 

unlimited from one domain, and not more than 5 domains a day one month average IMO

 

Do it naturally and choose quality links.
