Does a blog need categories? I have seen blogs with no categories at all. How do you post to no categories. It always goes to uncategorized when I post.

It depends if your blog is a niche. if so, why bother? if not, your readers will more easily surf to an area of their interest and be more inclined to linger around, comment, etc...

Of course. It keeps our blog ourganize. I usually place them in Anything Under The Sun or uncategorized category

Blog categories make it easier for users to navigate through your site and find posts on topics they're interested in.

I don't think you can get around posting in categories, but like pp said, you can hide categories by removing it from your template and not including it in your URL.

I would recommend using categories as users will like the organisation on the site.

Categories makes navigation easier. No categories would be like having a big website with no links to other pages.

use categories or tags, they make your content organised. visitors dont have to search when categories or tags are present.

when I see no categories or tags in a blog, it becomes difficult to find what content the blog has, I simply close the blog, always include categories or tags in blogs.

Uncategorized is currently set as your default category, so when no selection is made that is where it goes. Maybe you could change the default category to "General" or something similar to that.

If you want to remove the categories you would need to go into your theme directory and edit it out of the template. You will usually find it in a fille calle right-side-php and left-side.php or something similar to that.
