Anyone here is MCSE holder? I have 2 questions here:

    1. How much each paper cost?
    2. How long does the certification valid?

    Thanks.

i'm MCTS holder, studying for MCSE right now

1- do you mean exam cost or study materials ?
i always study using PDF ebooks

2-all MS certification are valid until new technology comes, for example few weeks ago they retired all windows 2000 exams

I got certified almost 10 years ago because my employer at the time paid for the whole thing. It was a lot easier than the Cisco CCNA.

One recommendation: if you can afford it, make sure to study from at least two different course guides because I'v found (after various certifications) that there's never one difinitive study guide. You should always prepare using at least two.

btw, Good luck to any of you taking it !!!

I never completed - but the costs are entirely dependent on how much of it you decide to do. You need to be pretty selective and have a sense of the "roadmap" so you don't end up certifying only to find it invalid. Also - make sure you make a comittment to specific areas - especially areas where there will be growth...

Try checking promteric.com or vue.com for the exam prices. The last time I looked it was $125 per exam, and you need 7 exams for MCSE on Windwos Server 2003.

The exams and certifications retire but unlike Cisco, you don't your qualification does not retire and you don't need recertification, even when your certification is retired. So MCSE on Windows 2000 Server is still vaild.

So you're MCSE on which Windows? Is it Windows NT? Have you upgrade to the latest certification?

I'm sure you're not in networking path right now do you?
