Your link is invalid. I do know his real age, I don't think it's relevant - I have his driver license and passport.

The discussion opened here about teenagers doing business is very interesting, but let us not forget - we were and are both legal by age and all means.

has this guy been proven guilty or it is just hearsay, it'd be humiliating for someone to have his picture and real name plastered all over the net for something he didn't do. I'm just sayin......

    Which can always be doctored.

I only mentioned what I said before because you said he was "a bit over 20 years old" - yet I found a post where he stated he was only 18, and now someone (post above) mentions he's only 17??

Just makes me wonder if the passport, drivers license, etc. you have on him are even legitimate, or if you're even dealing with a real person (valid identification, etc).

Edit: What the person said above now is also possible..

Be careful posting people's pictures and real names online, guys. There are certain laws that ban this and until proven guilty in the proper forum (court of law), I don't think it's proper that you post personal information.

Personal information is protected under privacy laws. It is not Top Secret, sure but you should not be posting others' information on a public forum in this way. Also there is the doctrine of innocent until proven guilty. What you are doing doesn't seem to be fair to the person.

Well, you are the only one to blame it this case. At 30$ a day it means the seller could earn $3,000 in 100 days (a little over three months). Why the hell would he sell this for $3,000 and give you the option to return it within a year if it didn't earn that much??

You should thank gurick1 for the lesson he has taught you. This will prevent you from being a fool next time and hopefully avoid losing more money.

I hope the bastard gets what he deserves. That's why I don't do business with everyone although I might get a good deal. If the website makes 10$/day, keep it and try to make your 1,500$ back within 150 days (cca 6months) because if you somehow manage to get him to court, it's going to be a long process so you might want to earn some money in the meanwhile.

    OR

    Just keep the website.

His Driver License and Passport will not help you winning the case. What's the method of payment did you use to pay him?

I know you are probably no happy with his scam, but look at what you have got:

A site for half the agreed price, that makes 1/3 of what was stated.

You would make your money back in half a year.

The legal fees would be big and it seems like its taking up a lot of time.

But he said that that boy make some changes to the code and took the site offline and its offline for about 2 months now. so it's lost all the traffic and even if he gets it back online then it won't make any money unless he spends a hell lotta time advertising it

Two wrongs does not make one right. We are hearing from one perspective only. As you said "if this would be true". Even you have an element of doubt in your mind.

You're most likely not going to win this case.. Because website revenue is volatile and the site isn't in the red.. yet, down from $30/day to around $10/day.. you're still completely in the green considering how much you paid.. That site is worth in the mid to high $x,xxx if that profit is after costs.. you'll be cited for the downturn in economies of scale and the lowered consumer confidence in many market niches. Although, the contract does specify that you're entitled to a refund if the site doesn't produce as per conditions.. since your site has still produced relatively high considering the price you paid.. the court would see it as the defendant giving an exceptional deal for a website.. and whenever you decided to add or subtract some content from the page, this action might have brought about the downgrading of your sites performance.. hence, taking liability off of the defendant and resting it all on you...

The matter is, either the person is a kid or not. That should not be the reason not to trust that person. i will encourage that before you pay out any money like that to a person, be sure to know more about them and see what others have said about it.

A scammer can a kid or an adult, even a 12 or a 30 year old will scam you if you fall into the trap.
so it's not the matter of age.
