I already tried Adbrite, but apart from their long chque processing times the whole earning potential doesn't look very bright... For me no ads appeared (either CPC or CPM) for a day or 2 and than I renounced. I wonder for those of you whom the ads are working what are your revenues expressed in CPM for the CPC and CPM programs. I think their minimum is 5c/CPM, but of course then they don't always show ads, so the real minimum is even lower...
My ads are working on a couple sites, some they are not for some reason. Check out my sig link for alternatives. Check out bidvertiser...
they have serious problems with getting checks out on time. And a lot of times early in the morning it doesn't show ads. Still Adbrite is great for advertising, there's a lot of big sites that you can mine through that have cheap rates for the amount of traffic you get. I managed to put up a 1 month ad campaign on a really really popular site (100,000 u/v a day) for $20 bucks. If you sniff around you can get some great deals.
Yo gerritpoel. You achieved 0.80 CPM with the CPC program or they pay 0.8$/CPM for the CPM banner ads? Interstitial ads start from 0.5$ CPM I think, but the simple CPM banner ads have to be much lower...
Np gerritpoel. They have CPC ads too, right? Are the text ads CPC or CPM based, and if they are CPC based what's your earning per click and CTR?
Well, since I had no sucess on adsense with my site, I didnt really bother putting up alot Text ads, which are ppc. Banner are CPM an display text ads, if there are no banner to be displayed. But I'm not sure if these Text(CPC) ads are counted as cpm as well. Anyway, I have a few pages with text ads, and I have an astonishing CTR of 0%. Maybe because my impressions are quite low. And honestly, I believe CPC ads don't do too well on image hosting sites. People are too focused on viewing the picture @Modpeng, have you had any good experience with them?
adbrite sux forget it. I generated 73k impressions and 44 clicks... only for $4 with my old website which its no longer here =(
If you're going to use Adbrite there are two ways you will really make money with it :' 1.) The Referral Program 2.) Advertisers purchasing direct ads I've been using Adbrite for almost three years now and I get several direct advertisers every month that are the bulk of my earnings besides referrals. I referred quite a few (over 100) publishers and advertisers to Adbrite early on and some of them are doing quite well which earns me a nice amount of money every month for basicly doing nothing. Also, you have to be very specific with your keyword choices when creating an ad and you have to have a site that fits well into the typical Adbrite niches. As with any affiliate or advertising program, you have to take your time and not expect return over night. It took me almost 3 years to break the $300 per month level but now it's pretty steady for me.
that's good info, because my earnings really suck. Do you guys know any good alternative for cpm based ads? Something good to start out with perhaps? I don't have that many UV's
You should probably try a reliable CPA network if you're UV's are low or at least try a mix and match for a while until you see what performs better on your site. Most CPM networks pay <$2 eCPM so unless you're getting millions of hits per month, you're really not making much.
Hmmm thanks for the info. I've tried adsense, however it never really went anywhere... No clicks. I'll resort to CPM,.. but then again... which one would be suitable for me?
