Your parents are always your friends, mine never had any problem with me owning a site. I mean, it was under there behalf, but I don't think you could say that they maintained it. And no I didn't have a drivers license at 14. My point was just that kids can do good work and when it comes to scamming you can't be stereotyping kids because some scam and others don't. Not trying to start an argument.

If I were you, I'd try to fix the site first since the longer it is down, the more traffic/money you are loosing. There is no guarantee that you'll beat him so make the best with what you got right now. And of course, continue fighting...

Nothing will happen to this scammer because they don't have a legal contract. You can't sign a contract and fax it to the other party.

No Offense Ben, but devotion is what most kids I've come across miss !

I started racing at a very young age. By 14, I was one of the best any one could come close to, not just my age, but a lot of senior folks too had to fight to take me down in a circuit.

FIA gave me an international license, but the license is restricted to race and not to drive on streets! Not that FIA doubts my driving/riding capabilities. They knew I'm good on track and thats the reason they issued the license. They also knew that I was a kid and could be a problem if my brain starts acting "teenish".

We always come across one or two who are too good for their age. But rules are made for the majority. May be you and other few kids are too good at handling situation. But the question is how many YOU's are here around ??

To end this conversation and to get back on topic, I can agree with you there. Kids are kids and devotion is hard when they have other things to do.

Anyway, back on topic, any news from this case...? Lawyer, attorneys? He busted yet :p

what he did to you is terrible, but from my point of view 30$/day website for 3000$ that's the deal right? and you said the website earned 17$/day in the beginning but it started dropping - so lets say that with a little tweaking and stat monitoring (to understand the reason why the earnings are dropping) you actually paid 1500$ for a website that makes 15$/day that's half of the money for half of the website (15$/day website for 1500$)

maybe you don't even have access to the website now and that's a different situation, but if you do and you can keep the revenue stream for 4 months you will earn more then you invested.

good luck and sue his ass anyway..

Depending on certain facts, you and other folks might be shocked to discover
that formation of contracts aren't restricted to paper only. The law is trying
to catch up with technology, and there have been various decisions on email
    contracts or so.

Good luck to the OP trying to get a favorable decision, much more enforcing it
    on the respondent.

Kudos to Dave for pointing out the incorrect assertion by desertst0rm!

A contract really just requires "a meeting of the minds." I make an offer, you accept it, we have a contract. Nothing has to be signed, etc. A contract can be made via fax, email, IM, phone, in-person, walkie talkie, etc.

Of course, these are broad generalizations. Certain contracts must be in writing due to the Statute of Frauds (land sales, goods over a certain value, performance requires more than a year, etc). And other laws can come into play as well. But don't assume that you don't have an enforceable contract just because it isn't signed in ink on paper.

I actually sign most of my contracts with clients via EchoSign.com.

and how does an underage kid get his hands on $1500? I do not
even think you are allowed to work at 14...and if his skills were so
developed as he says, then he would not have been conned so easily.
did he say international? he has already lost...its fairly easy to take
someone across the street to court, somewhat difficult taking someone
cross state lines to court, and damn impossible to take someone over
seas to court...whos this kid fooling, ive got money...what would your
parents think about you pissing this much money away on a con? then you got those other concerns, did a laywer finalize your contract deal? or did you think you were smart enough to write on a piece of paper and think it would even fly...why am i even discussing this...you lost when you sent this
    guy the money...
