doesn't the bird look like it's old enough to figure the seeds out?? not sure how old it is but it's big!

yeah! and they came back about 2-3 weeks after I took this shot too...the chick making a very distinct chirp upon arrival too

 

That reminds of a article in the newspaper.

Some bird lives on a tree right next to the house, and at 5AM everyday the bird imitates an ambulance sound perfectly, it can also do the persons ringtone

 

oh man, that would get old rather quickly!!

 

Indeed, the person thought it was funny for one day, but now he tries throwing stones at it.

 

stones, cats, explosives, so would I

 

The ringtone thing would be awesome!

 

Maybe the first time...unless it learned a new one if you changed it...that'd be fun.

yeah, quite surprised to see them that close to us. granted I am taking these from inside the house but the black thing they are standing on is a bench that sits right up against the outside wall. my lends was < 3' from them when I took those.

Here's the change of pace. This is not my backyard :-o, it was outside where we stayed 2.4 weeks ago, Lake Conroe, north of Houston - home of $5 pints of B&J ;mad; :-P
