I have saw many people selling these. Not even companies but single handed people. Where do they get them from to sell in the first place? Are they legal etc?
Virtual Credit Card. A lot of people used to sell them here in DP but it's now disallowed to do so. You can't buy or sell VCCs here anymore. There are certain websites that sell them, though, and yes, most of them are legal. However, what makes them illegal, IMO, is the way that people use them. Hence, if you're going to buy one, be very careful and double check the source. Also, VCCs can only be used for a limited period of time so check if it's really what you need in the long run.
You need to take care, many sites are fake, others have high price but are secure. Search first before buy.
VCC's are virtual credit card that you can use to make online purchases or verify Paypal accounts. Although its not allowed by Paypal many people use it. VCC were sold here on dp too but due to certain reasons the management has stopped sales of vcc in dp. There are several other places you can find vcc services. Just search on google you'll find them.
A legit company would be Simon.com Don't know if I can really tell you that, so if I can't feel free to have a mod remove it.
is there anything LEGIT bout VCCs ! Neways .. just wanted to add ... they are usually given by OFFSHORE asian banks but if you are caught using it ... paypal usually cancels ur account!

Before they were banned, I saw a lot of Paypal accounts limited threads due to VCCs, after they were banned, I hardly see any Paypal accounts limited threads. I guess that tells us something.

big banks provide this service to their customers. If you are a customer of a big bank and have a credit card with them, then to keep your credit card safe these banks provide vcc to their customers to do online shopping. this vcc is only a number which is valid for a month, or has no credit means you cannot shop. the bank clients sell their vcc numbers to people to get extra free cash. the vcc numbers belongs to them and this is wrong because it is their identity(bank customer's) which vcc buyers(a person buying a vcc from a bank customer having a vcc) use to prove themselves.
I gathered it was a VCC. I knew what it stood for, but I am not sure why people used it and if it was Legal or not.
Its ofcourse no where legal. But not illegal either. I mean to say that Paypal or any other Site on the Internet would never actually ask you to show a scanned copy of your Credit Card. All they care about is the PIN Codes and the actual card code. So you can easily use them without any fear. The same goes for Credit Cards issued by Banks. Though there are certain types of it. Some can be used only once especially those issued for Paypal Verification Purposes. Others can be used again and again. However one thing, you should keep in mind. The VCCs issued by people are not secure to be used in most cases, as they have the address of the Seller Enclosed on the Card Holder's Name, NOT YOUR NAME (But they will Work). As for the bank ones, one can use them without worry, as long as you are not visiting anything fake.
