How Do You Guys Do It?

I'm reading these posts about people making $100+ a day w/ AdSense and I'm totally clueless as to how they do it. Multiple sites I'm guess for most people and I'm guessing a lot of the people making those claims are BS'ing but still there has to be some who are legitimately doing it...

I have one site I put a lot of work into but I am very much a novice in terms of driving traffic (what can I do to increase this). My site generally averages between 1500-2500 impressions per day. The website is about 6 months old and I have been stuck at this mark for the past 3 months or so. My best month in the 6 months I have been with AdSense was last month when I made a whopping $8.25.

I have tried posting ads in different locations and exc, but it seems like AdSense has a hard time posting relevant ads. My site is sort of a 'gossip' website and I will use the word douchebag to describe someone and it will post ads for ebay about douche kits or something.

Does anyone have any suggestions in terms of SEO basics and AdSense basics? Ways I can increase my traffic and exc... ? Thanks

Patience is key like everything. Have you tried blending your adsense ads in with your sites color scheme?

1500-2500 per day are enough to make atleast 8$ using adsense ( with the worst kind of traffic ).

SEO is the main thing that works for me.

    First Step -
    Get Some Directory Submissions Done.

Check that each and every page is indexed.

$8 a day? And I know this is going to sound extremely stupid but...

    "First Step -
    Get Some Directory Submissions Done
." - How do I do this and how do I check that each page is indexed?

A query of "site:1up.in" shows lots of pages indexed.
Previously it was only 200 pages but after submitting sitemaps it has increased a lot.

When you would query your site you should note on how many pages are indexed because you need to try to get google juice for each and every page.

There are lots of people in buy sell trade section to help you on Directory Submission.

There is a feature in adsense which will allow you to hide some particular text to be indexed by google adsense bots . This would help you with those douche kits ad problem.

You need to look for DoFollow directories. To see if your pages are indexed use Googles webmaster tools or just go to google and search site:yourdomain.com

My site is LastVoice.com. If I punch the domain into Google I obviously get the domain name as the top result but not much after that. My site is a blog and the individual posts used to show up as http://www.lastvoice.com/p?=77...I had someone help me w/ that about 2 weeks ago and correct it so it will display the name of that posts (ie: http://www.lastvoice.com/hot-chics.html) so I'm guessing that will help but may take some time???

Also look into Google's Webmaster Tools to see at a glance things like where you rank for various keywords etc. Tells you also if there are issues with Titles or keywords or meta tags.

Seems really strange to be getting 2,000 impressions and only earn £8 a month, I think you should revamp your site design and see what happens

Depends upon the content type. There is no formula to know how much you should make with X number of impressions...it varies widely based on many factors.

Thats true but if hes only making $8 there is nothing to lose by trying. Try everything until you hit a successful result, I am still trying.

I would recommend that you just keep promoting both the homepage URL as well as individual posts. It takes awhile to begin earning money with adsense - especially if you are in a competitive niche. Submit your URL to directories (visit the directories section of the forum), post relevant comments on related blogs, submit your blog posts to Blogcarnival, use Technorati tags, etc.

    Hey

I have my own theory and it goes like this: "Action-reaction".

    Natural "Action-reaction" site? 30 visitors = 10 clicks.

Well, this is not a theory cause i have alot of years of marketing and this is marketing VS mental games VS color theory etc. etc. And i'm not bullshiting you. This works. Advertisers do it all year round in TV ads, Radio ads, Banners, etc etc. IF you provoque the right reaction to visitors, THEY will click on ads.

The rest is up to you buddy. Otherwise, you gotta wait for my first ebook, maybe before Christmas... :)

But research a lot and you'll find some good advices on this. ;)

Write articles, articles, articles and submit to Ezine Articles, Go Articles, etc. Also, find similar blogs on which you can comment and drop a link. Drop links, the right way, in Yahoo Answers.

Never quit trying...tweak and retweak...let a new design or layout run for a while though before changing it. Design or layout itself isn't probably going to increase the CPC, though.

If your site is lastvoice.com let me tell you... it took me 2 minutes and I had to check the source to see where your ads were...

Seriously, and my objective here is trying to avoid all the "keep trying" bull*hit...

1 - Remove ALL those ads you have there and keep adsense only. Your eCPM with all the other ads will keep going down and down.
2 - Stop using any kind 468*60 banner
3 - I see you're using Wordpress.... get a decent theme as the one you're using is just terrible. You need something with a left navigation bar, a right navigation bar and a place to stick a 300*250 banner right "in your face"
4 - Stop using "images only" ads
5 - Implement SEO for all
    6 - Implement Sitemaps
    7 - Implement Related posts
8 - Give it time (2 months at least)
9 - Start working for the search engines. Returning visitors become "ad blind"
10 - Write more and more UNIQUE CONTENT

I could write 1000 more things, but what do I know about adsense?...
