I'm Not Saying That They Are Original But Two Effective Ways That I Use To Market My Website Are:

    (1) I Write The Site's URL In The Sand When I Go Walking On The Beach Everyday. It's Amazing How Many People Stop To Read The Messages! Every 100 Meters Or Less, I Make A New Sign.

    (2) I Do Up Photocopied Advertisements For My Site and Include the URL In The Ad, Then I Write The URL Sideways About 10-12 Times At The Bottom Of The Ad And Make Cuts Between Each Written URL So That People Can Rip Off The Address To Take Home!

Both Ideas Seem To Be Working Very Well As My Profits Have Jumped A 1000% In The Last Day! You Read Right, That's '1000%'!

What Do You Do To Promote Your Website!?

    Please Share,
    Regards, Dave. :)

The first one about writing in the sand is a very unique idea and one that i like. It might work very well here in Australia, i live on the beach so once summer hits i may give this ago. :)

Those are novel methods Fatherspirit :)

Can I ask how you know that your profit jump was caused by these marketing methods and not something else?

That's A Valid Point, Thanks! I Can't Attribute The Profit Jump To Anything Else At This Stage. The Two Mentioned Methods Are The Only Things That I'm Doing Differently From Before! Anyway, I'm Having A Lot Of Fun!
    Cheers, Dave.

I suspect that your 1000% jump is - if true - a case of post hoc ergo propter hoc.

Consider how few people would see your advertisements, what proportion would then visit the site, and how many would then convert.

to build on the sand, why not build sandcastles and get little flags made up with your website on? and say please take me home (the flag that is!)

The paper cutting idea works really well, especially on college billboards. I've seen alot of people use it and it seems to work great.

The sand idea it's smart. I wonder if you write a really long message in the sand about your site - will people stop and read the entire thing? I.e. an ebook landing page written in the sand? lol

    Hey Dave,

Creative... why don't you share your traffic stats? if that can brings +1000 visits per month, it's great, cheap & effective. cuz offline-to-online traffic is EXTREMELY targeted & converts. No wonder, I can expect the %1000 profit growth.

    - Kaled

As I see in the ad, it's editing service. That works very well around universities campus.

Another idea! How about paying a taxi company to have stickers with your URL on all their cars. You could have stickers with your URL even on buses. You could also include a logo and a slogan to the URL if you have some. This aims to create a brand awareness

What program do you use to create these photocopied advertisements with the URL sideways? This is a great idea

Thats the coolest idea! The one about writing in the sand. Then take a picture of it and put it on your web site. Thats freaking awesome!

I wish I lived near a beach, that would be such a sweet advertising strategy.
