Bought a flash template, received psd files. Do I need a coder?

    I purchased a flash website template which came with a few psd files, the flash file, and the index file. I was under the impression that I would have to get a coder to turn this into html/css, but my husband insists that the website could be published as is, after a bit of editing of course.

    Is that even possible? Would that just be a flash website? I'm so confused :confused:

    Well Yes. You just have to Embed the Site in a PHP or HTML page and Wola, you have your own Site. You'll just have to Edit the Flash via Adobe Flash (Macromedia Flash). And if you already have an index File then my guess is its already embeded. Just change the Title of Page to your Site, and do some editing in Flash that you need. Publish the Movie as SWF and Upload the SWFs and Index to your Host.

    No Slicing is totally Different. Slicing is Extracting Graphics (PSDs) into HTML to be used as a Webpage. But I think its already embeded. If you can see the Flash Animation in your Index.html than its already embeded.

    Yes, when I open the index.html it plays the flash intro and the buttons work. You're saying I do not need to embed anything, correct? So how do I turn all of this into a website? Could I just upload it as-is to my webhost and have a fully functional site?

    Yes.

    Of course, if you want to edit the contents you will have to do that, but by uploading the HTML file with the Flash file, you'll have a functional website.

    depends if you want your site to be flashy or static. If you want flashy you have to modify the fla file and to update links and want you want to be there!
    And if you want to be static you have to open the psd file with Photosop to slice it and save... adobe will save automaticaly in html file...

    That's terrible practice. Better hire a coder that will make a good web page than do that. That is if html+css would be needed. Flash sites aren't seo friendly tho.
