Sure, Militaries from all over the world training every day. Guardians of the Islamic Revolution are not an army, they are a Terror organization that threat to "Erase" Israel of the map and encourage/supply money, bombs, guns and suicide bombers and Many Terror organization aka Hamas, hizbullah and so on.
I think you are right... US said the photos were doctored and Iran fired only 1 missile instead of 9... another one failed to launch..
Nothing wrong with it, unless you are doing it to try to intimidate. Who knows.. Its pretty obvious Iran is rather talented with Photoshop! Either way, I only see them as a threat as long as people keep talking about them as a threat. If the news media would stop listening and broadcasting this crap, the soap box just goes away. Problem solved.
I wonder how long in advance the missile test was scheduled and if it's just coincidence that they launched the tests right after oil prices had dropped a bit. I doubt it's a coincidence. It's really in Iran and Russia's interest to keep oil prices high.
I'm fairly confident that that little pipsqueak, alhaImAJihadist is doing this to play with the markets. He says that there will be no war, stock market goes up, oil slides 10 bucks a barrel. Next day, claims to launch some bottle rockets he likely picked up from BlackCat and stock market goes down, Oil goes up again. I'd say the media and most in Washington are tools from Iran's presidents perspective.
That is what I was thinking. Although I think there are others involved in making certain things "news" when needed to get prices up higher. They want the prices up as high as they can push it, so when it drops, even if it was 1/2 the price, they would still be able to make a killing.
It's becoming more and more evident to me that the problem with the economy, globally is derived almost entirely by our need for energy. The solution to some is to lower demand. Still others think we need to find alternatives. Still others thing we need to reduce our dependance by drilling for more of our own. The real solution? All of the above. Reduce Demand AND Increase Supply AND Create Alternatives. Energy is the new GOLD and SILVER. Want to back a monetary system with something other than FAITH, produce more energy in any form. Iran plays a dangerous game which to me is nothing more than a circle jerk for those that like to indulge in mental masturbation exercises. Their economy is almost entirely based on one commodity and one export; oil. There is no way in hell they would cut the world off from the one thing that drives their economy. Ackmadumbajihad is a lot of things; stupid is not one of them. I think he recognizes this. But in order to remain in power, he like every other dictator in history has to show his power once and a while. It keeps him in check with his peers, and furthers any doubt or disrespect his people may have for him. He's basically like most of us in the male gender. He's gotta prove he has a big balls. What the US should concentrate on is all I mentioned before at the same time. Lowering demand, creating alternatives and increasing production in other areas. We also need to let our farmers make us food, and talk to our buddies in Brazil who deserve our ethanol business! They make it cheaper, better, and can benefit greatly with a mutual tie to the US. I'm headed for home and plan to pump $96 more worth of that demon fuel into my Vette! We don't have to live without it. We just need to make more of it, while using less of it. If that makes sense.
I get 9.3 MPG and love the hell out of it! I drive it EVERYDAY.... Unless I am riding my bike or motorcycle, which I try to do at least once per week. All my driving is in town, so I get crappy mileage no matter what. If I am gonna get crappy mileage and pay $4+ per gal, I'm gonna have fun doing it! I've got my foot hard on the pedal every time I'm behind the wheel. I probably fill up twice per month, so again, its not that bad. It has a 24 gallon tank, believe it or not... That's huge. The car is ENGINE and GAS TANK. I could probably get about 15+ if I switched from the TH350 to a 700R4, but the money I would spend doing that would take me about 50,000 miles to re-coupe, ie., recognize the fuel cost savings. That said, with only 5k/year on average allowed on the car per the collectors insurance, I'll never see any savings. I looked at one of those cheapo $10k electric cars a few weeks ago. Again, it would take me forever to recognize the savings. I don't drive one of those gas guzzling SUV's, so in reality, I am really not doing bad in the consumption dept. I've got a G6 that gets 32+ so my wife uses that as she has a long commute. The coolest thing about the Vette is when you really punch it, the 4's open up, and you can smell that gas dumping into the intake. Its friggin awesome! You can literally watch the fuel gauge go down... I LOVE IT!!!! I'll likely move to vortec heads over the winter and gasket match the existing intake, re-curve the distributor and rejet the carb, throw on a new exhaust and headers and get a few more horse out of it. FYI, the C6's out there get 32 MPG city and 25MPG+++ in the city. 550HP vehicles that can get 32MPG, and they cannot make a puny 4 cylinder hybrid mini SUV/Cross over get even close to that? Right! I could throw an LS2 in my car and get 25MPG or better, but again, the cost of doing that far outweighs any savings. Plus, its fun to show off an old school motor! Engine, air cleaner, valve covers, thats about it... No emissions BS or cheesy plastic. Sometimes fun trumps fuel at any cost! So it costs me a little more this year to do something I enjoy, whatever!
It's pretty fun as is. Its not super powerful, but then again none of the C3's of that generation were. The L82's did not even break 200HP. They just look sexy, are comfortable and fun to drive, and turn the heads of every age, young and old. They're just fun to drive. Maybe that's what they need more of in Iran. I see in Iraq that many of the young people over there are souping up Mustangs, and Camaros. I'd like to think one day we'll all share some common love for something.
Ugh...what can I say. Brainwashed much? I know this is Palestinian but I believe it's relevant. http://youtube.com/watch?v=KwWaz6sx8Mo
a war in Iran will never happen its just to make news for news channel and to play with media so they control the people behaviors and Oil prices.
Firing missiles at live hostile targets takes practice. The guidence sytems can only be improved with test firings. Test firing is a must.
Hhehe, That was a good one Did you heard about The Pallywood? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t_B1H-1opys Have a nice watch
The biggest reason for high oil price is a man by the name Bush. U.S. oil companies produce 6,000,000 barrels of oil every day just in USA that they were previously selling for $25 /barrel. Now they are selling for $140/barrel. That is an extra profit of $690,000,000 EVERY DAY only from domestic production.
Using that logic, we can blame Canada too. I mean hell, Canada has the largest deposits of shale oil on the planet, 3 times that of the combined reserves of Saudi Arabia. Seems they are raking in the dough to. Interestingly flawed logic from our illustrious and demonstrative DMOZ thread flamer, Julian...
