I am starting to have some of the pages of my site move up the rankings but not others. My question is, I do both seo and PPC. On PPC I have a landing page for each keyword. Most of the content is the same on the landing pages. I use a template for the landing pages that have links to the website in the template. I took a link from the home page off the template for ppc and seen some good results. Should I take the other links off that go to the company website? I think from research I've done that you cant just have a landing page without it linking to your site. Is that true?
You can have landing pages that don't link to your site, but think about the user: If you're selling security, I want to know more about the company I am going to submit my information to. Each vertical will have it's own nuances, but no matter what seo/sem efforts you use, at the end of the day, it takes a human being with eyeballs, brains and fingers to click - and that is what you should ALWAYS focus on - conversions.
Your right about conversions. Should I only link one page to my landing pages incase it is holding down the rest of my site. I have about 200 landing pages with most of the same content. I get good conversions on ppc. Because my template has a link to my about us page and testimonial page and home page of my website will it hold those pages down in the organic listings since all 200 pages have most of the same content on it?
