Hello everyone. I have submitted a few sites to dmoz and they were not approved. I have since built a few more sites and would like to submit them. Should I wait until the sites have Page Rank before I submit. Thanks.

I think the more developed a site is, the better it would be to get approved in DMOZ. A site having PR or not is not a requirement to get listed, as far as I know.

Pagerank has no bearing whatsoever on the list/dont-list decision there.

As for your previous attempts with other sites not being approved... since they don't send out rejection letters it is possible they havent been accepted *yet* but are still queued up for consideration.

    Good luck.

Thank you both for your input. My first 2 sites I submitted were over 2 years ago. But they go in large categories. My main site will go in small category. I hope they approve it. Does anybody know of a cheap place that will write my submission for me too submit. I have seen these offers here before but wasnt too sure about it.

There was a database failure there less than 2 yrs ago that destroyed the submissions queue. It would make perfect sense to resubmit any heretofore unaccepted site originally submitted in the timeframe you just described.

Sorry, but I very much doubt its listable due to lack of unique content and looks so much like a MFA site. Maybe an editor can confirm that. Meso category is also spammed to death. Look at the sites already listed...unless you have some more quality info than those sites then its not going to get listed. Also as it a health topic, the sources/author qualifications of your info is not known (while that is NOT a requirement, it helps).
    Long is bad.

If it was listable, then guideline compliant title would be NewMesotheliomaPatient.com and description would be: Information on types, symptoms and treatment.

MFA = made for adsense. If a site looks like its just made for adsense, then assume its probably not listable.

Look at DMOZ mesothelioma category. Look at the reputation, track record and credibility of the sites that are listed.
Do a google search for meso - looks what comes up.
Go to any other directory and look in the health category (most not big enough for a seperate meso category) ... look at the types of meso sites they list....think carefully about why are those sites not listed in DMOZ and Yahoo directories (try and keep aside all the urban myths about DMOZ)

What sort of meso site would benefit the visitor and the www? Given the nature of the medical condition, only authoritative and reliable info from sites with credibilty are of value (did you notice how many law firms own meso sites? - how credibile is that?)

A blog would be a great idea; esp if you could get all the latest meso research (try Google Scholar or pubmed) and blog about that in terms that the lay person can understand. If its updated regularly, then this sort of site actually has value and adds to the visitor experience.
