I seem to get a lot of Page Impressions daily, but no clicks. Is this typical of a new site or does everyone have this problem? www.thinkabouthd.com
As a reader, what we see first is a page with ads all around. Try to make ads look more like content. The color of your ads' link should be the same as tour page's links, this will help getting click. Instead of putting ads all around, try to include them into your content. I would keep the one on top, but get rid of the twos on the side. I would maybe put text links in your menu and another ad where your tvs are. Think about it, the visitor is there for tvs, that's what he's looking for. If you put ads close to what your user sees, you maximize your chances of him clicking on ads.
With 40 impressions a day if you have a click through rate of 1% which is the minimum you should expect, then you should get a click every other day or third day. If this is not happening, you need to vary your ad format. Maybe the cplours or the position or the site Just keep testing things till you find what works There really is no one size fits all when it comes to adsense. What works on one site may totally bomb on another Good luck
40 impressions is not enough to get any statistics out of it. You can start to get real numbers when you reach something like 400-500 impressions. At 40 impressions you can have a day with 10 clicks and a day with 0 click, it's really hard to tell.
Totally agree. One of my sites has recently been averaging above 145 impressions (site is about 3 month old) a day and I'm getting about 7-10 clicks a day. I'm trying to get more traffic to get it into the 500+ impressions a day since my CTR is good. Any key suggestions to bump up the impressions? Would it help a lot with impressions to like rank #1 for 4-5 keywords that people are using to come to your site? Right now the for the top 4 keywords that people are finding my site I rank in the top 5 for them.
It started to make the jump since last week. Before that I was only getting like 50-60 impressions a day.
This would definitely help you to be the top one in all 4 keywords if right now you are in the top 5. I guess you could triple your traffic easily, maybe more, it depends the kind of traffic these keywords receive!
You have to do a lot of SEO. This partially means build a lot of links with your keywords as anchor text. I have had that problem from time to time. Ithink if you have trafic continue doing what you are doing and the Clicks will come. Try changing your ad colors.
