    Hmmm! I just received an Infraction for the above post. The reason given was "Inappropriate Post/Thread". I'm confused. Someone posted that a site was for sale, and I was interested in it so I replied asking for very specific information. I don't get it, how's this inappropriate? Gosh! I hope I won't get another infraction for posting this message. I am still fairly new to this thread (any thread actually), so sorry but I still don't understand everything.

    It's because the information you asked for is already posted in the thread, and there are loads of new people who just endlessly post "pm me the url" simply to get their own post counts up and for no other reason.

    The first post clearly says "PM me if interested", it does not ask for you to ask the thread starter to PM you. There is no need for you to make a post asking for a PM, you can just as easily PM the seller without making any pointless posts about it.

    Hmmm! The information I asked for wasn't already there on the original post. I also make it a point to reply on the thread, not just send a PM because if this turns into a deal, I can give and receive an iTrader. When you try to give an iTrader on DP, it asks for the thread and warns you that your account will be terminated if you did not participate in a deal within this exact thread. SO the only proof is a post on the thread. I have been a member since May and I have made about 15 deals so far. But I have only received 6 iTraders because early on I only dealt directly on a PM basis. Seems like you are damned if you do and you are damned if you don't.

    For iTrader it says you have to participate in the thread. Says nothing about posting in the thread.

    The rules clearly state not to post a reply like everyone did. Thats why everyone got an infraction.

    Well on page 2 of the thread he did post the URL, though personally I think DP should force sellers to give the URL in their first post to avoid the moronic PM me URL posts, and people still kept asking for it even in the following post - so I guess the moderator thought this thread was a particularly bad example of idiocy.

    I think in general, for everybody, one should read through the posts and not ask things that have already been asked and answered to avoid wasting the seller's time and needlessly bumping threads.

    In this case, if people did read it first they would see the PR is possibly faked and that most people have moved on from it and the seller has posted the site on eBay instead.

    Hi Astroman,
    You said "if people did read it first they would see the PR is possibly faked". How can you tell if the page rank is fake? I am a fairly new webmaster with a good budget and I have been buying quite a bit of links for my site. I have been depending on the Google toolbar and http://www.build-reciprocal-links.com/fake-rank-checker/ to determine if the page rank is fake or not. Both of these confirm a PR6 for livedatematch.com. Is there anything else I should be looking out for? I am just afraid I might get burned on of these days. So any advice would be appreciated.

    p.s. I know this is kind of an off topic for this thread, but I think it's an important one for me (as well as other new webmasters) to learn. So I really hope I won't get an infraction for asking this.

    Seems a bit OTT to penalise so many people when the easiest thing to do would be to make people post all such details in the original opening post. Sometimes i do not have time to read pages of "PM me the details", especially with such a big forum. hence my post.
