PayPal Personal Account Receive over Account Limit

    Hi everyone. I don't know if anyone else can share my experience, but I found that I am able to receive over the $650 limit placed upon my personal account. Has paypal just raised the limit and forgot to update their back-end or could this be a genuine bug in their system. I checked out how much money I received in a month to my paypal personal account and it is well above the $650 limit. What do you guys think, should I tone it down though in case the "find out" lol..:p

    you got a limit on receive the paypal?

    quite weird

    i thought it just a limit for you to send or withdraw the paypal

    just my 2 cents

    Hmm, yep, I do. When I click on "view limits" in my accounts main control panel it says:

    "For security reasons, there are initial limits on the amount of money you can send and receive from your PayPal account."

    "Receiving Limit (Monthly) $650.00 CAD"

    The funny thing is that the number next to "Remaining Limit" did not change even though I've received over $200 in funds already.

    Odd, eh?

    Must be a little glitch in the system. I think something like that happened to me too, but then it was updated. Don't know what will happen if you've already crossed that limit, though.

    The thing about the Paypal Personal account is that it is not supposed to be used for business purposes, ie for you to make money from and thus the monthly limits of about US$500 if you use the merchant services, ie Buy Now button or eBay Auctions.

    But there is no limits in terms of receiving money from your friends or family, ie via the Send Money option. This option is pretty much used for events like if your parents wants to send you money or friends who wants you to buy something for them on your overseas trip and the likes. Incoming money via Mass Pay sent by your affiliate managers would fall under this category since you are not officially making money because of paypal services.

    Just remember that if you are using your paypal account to make money, you should not be using a personal account for that.

    call them and explain them that u have done so and so thing now just clear my account situation like this and they will help u out.
