why i hate using directory submission services

the other day I found someone on DP saying 1000 Submissions manually for $17. Sounded like a good deal so I paid the $17.

Tell me why I was getting 10 E-mail per minute from directories. This fool was doing auto submit to 1000 directories. Thank God I caught it before he was done and I demanded my money back which I received. I do not have a problem with Auto submit but 1000 will put me in the penality box if they all were to be approved at one time.

Anyone else feel the same way ?

ya, but I'm still guessing you would get your 17$ worth :)

I've used a program before, I think it was called digiximax or something like that.. it was 10$ for the submissions and you can put different titles and descriptions for each submissions :)

I use to do a lot of directory submissions and I know that it can be very time consuming. If you manually submitted a single site to 1000 directories it would take 60 to 80 hours of work

I would like to give my two cents..

Submission to 1000 directories in a day is not likely to get your site banned because directory owners take time in approving websites. And search engines are slow to index internal categories in directories.

Submitting to 1000 directories in one day is not a single person's job. You would need 3-4 people doing manual submissions for you if you want 1000 submissions in a day.

I am not a big fan of automated submissions because they are inaccurate. As a directory owner, I hate automated submissions :)

I tried manual submissions before and it is very tiring, sitting in front of computer for half a day and I barely finished 50 directories.

Never give your real email with submissions.

One of my customers, GreenStalk.Com does submissions. Does a great job, not that automated crap.

You could have surely seen by the price that it wasn't for real ;)

My manual submission service costs around 5 times that amount for 1000 submissions. Thats when you can see the payment per hour worked and know its real :)

If it sounds too good to be true it usually is :D

Since you only paid less than 2 cents per submission you got what you paid for. Did you expect a top notch service for that price?

Personally I don't believe any submission service actually submits a site by typing in a unique description and title at each go. They all use some form of automation to get it done.

I can guarantee that you won't be penalised from those 1000 instant approving directories. They won't get indexed in the same time, and they are too few. You will not get penalised, but that submission is useless. If the links got auto-approved...try imagine how many CRAP websites would be next to yours...

    Not even semi-automatic is recomended.

My advice? If you are lazzy :D, pay someone to manual add your link to at least 100 directories from info.vilescenter.com, and also provide 5-6 different descriptions, and titles. This will help way more than those 1000 junk submissions.

PS: did the SPAM began to arrive in your mail, from those 1000 free directories ? :D

    3 things wrong here:

    1. Free directory owners don't really approve you instantly.

    2. Even if you get approved, there is no guarantee that your approve link will be indexed soon.

    3. Keeping in mind the above two condition even if you have indexed 100 links permonth, its in no way gonna put you into any penalty box. Penalty box is not that easy to achieve as you may think.

    - So chillax. :)
