Here goes: I bought an MP3 player from eBay, and when the person tried to send it to me customs refused it. After that he planned on resending one, but didn't because the other didn't arrive. First he suggested sending me $20 USD (I paid $53.65). I said no, then he said he'll send me $40 USD, and I refused it. Today, he said that he'll refund me the full amount if I leave positive feedback. I go and try to leave positive feedback, and I find out he isn't a registered member anymore. I am awaiting an email from him but I am wondering: Should I wait until Monday before I start a dispute, and what are my chances of winning the dispute? Thanks for reading, Kherani.
You've been scammed. If you have used a credit card to pay for the item, you may be able to perform a chargeback.
You will win the dispute, but if the seller withdrawed the funds from their paypal account, you will not be able to get the refund till the funds available. I have had the some problem while ago and as of today i can't get my money back. I even filed with my bank and no results. The bank told me that I authorized third party(paypal) to charge my account. I have received an email from paypal stating that i have won the claim and they will try to collect the payment as soon as the funds available. paypal can't withdraw the funds from the seller bank/credit card accout in order to refund your money.
