And this has to do with clicking your own ads....how? I'm hoping that you responded to the wrong thread...cause this is WAY off topic.

Google TOS does not allow anyone to directly say "click my ads" or solicit people to click your ads. However, I don't see anything wrong with a forum saying, please feel free to take advantage of some of our sponsors ads if you find them useful. But you can't just directly ask people to click on your ads. It's kind of a grey area, so use your best judgment.

These people are hilarious. Of course they will get their Adsense banned and they will cry about it when it happens.

If you want to be 100% safe, just don't say anything. If your forum users are really interested in the ad, they will click on it. Just remember, real people pay for those clicks. Would you be mad if someone clicked on your ad that you paid for just to support someone else but no interest in that ad?

Well, I hope he gets banned with $99 in his account.

I have explained to many friends/family how Adsense works. How I get checks in the mail, etc. Almost every time they offer, "Oh, do you want me to click your ads?"

    NO NO NO NO NO!

If they click like crazy for a few days, (until they get tired of it) it might make me $20- but I will lose me much more than that in the long run.

BUT, I have told them: "If you are legitimately interested in the ads, then click. But don't do it because you want me to make money."

I was moving houses about a year ago, and I had remembered seeing an ad for a moving company on one of my sites. I went back to the site, and flipped through the pages a few times, until the ad came up. Then I clicked it, and hired the company. This was the only way I could remember who the company was. The fact that I probably made 30 cents off the transaction wasn't a big factor...

So the same thing applies to my friends- if it is legitimate, sure, go ahead, but it isn't worth the few dollars I would make from fake clicks, to get banned.

No, I am not doing that and I strongly advise against it. You are cheating everyone involved when you ask your friends to click your ads and eventually Google will discover this and ban your account.

I don't ask them to do it or even tell them that the ads are making me money. I just recruit them to visit my site. ;)
