If I Was In Charge Of Adsense

What would I change if I was the head honcho at Adsense? Hmm...

1- I would always contact a publisher that I was going to ban directly. They would get a detailed email that gave an honest answer and explanation of why I am banning them.

2- I would create an appeals process for banned publishers. If a publisher thought they were done wrongly by the ban, they would be allowed to state their case, which would lead to an honest review by a small panel.

3- EVERY publisher would be assigned an account manager to contact if needed. Sure, the small guys making a buck a day may have to wait a week for a response, but they could always speak to the same account manager with any questions/ problems.

4- I would lose the overly broad wordings in the tos. Every question that could be asked by any publisher as far as allowable content/ placement/ click enticement/ etc. would be addressed directly, thoroughly, and openly. Gone would be the days of publishers scratching their head as to what "mature content" really means, and all the other bs that G just loves to leave vague so that they can can any poor sap.

5- I would reveal the profit sharing arrangement with all publishers. We speculate that Adsense shares about 60/40 (60 for them) with the publishers. I would just come out and tell you exactly what % of the ad revenue you are getting.

6- No person would be banned without an initial warning and an opportunity to correct the defect. If you can't fix your screw ups after I tell you what's wrong, that's your own dumb fault.

7- EVERY publisher would have the ability to have ads in any size that they want, just like premium publishers do now. Wth would I want to limit your ad size? That's just dumb. If you want a 500 x 300 block, go for it.

How about you? What would you change if you were in charge of Adsense??

    :)

Did you get banned from Adsense?
It just came to my mind after reading the first two points.

Yea! Even I had the same thought for you. Anyways, I like the contact part and initial warning part. The current in-charge seriously need to think about this.

Agree, the lack of information that publishers get wherever there's a ban, that's just ludacris.

I wasn't banned guys. If you know anything about adsense though, you know you could always get banned at any time. Most of the time it's for a blatant violation of tos, but not always. If you are primarily monetizing with adsense, this should be a concern for you.

The lack of info given to banned publishers is ridiculous to say the least. If this isn't the sign of an out of control monopoly, I don't know what is.
