    bad for people's brain ?
Its evolution ... nothing else ...

Earlier people using computers knew the inside components and working , today anyone can use it without much need to know how it works and all ..

Almost all of us use calculators . so that too is bad for brains ?
But are anyone of us going to stop using calculators ?

One reason: My favorite development tools fail in Vista. For example, I ahve to buy a new license for WSFTP_PRO, and the new version of WSFTP_PRO is too buggy. Heck, cannot even play Halo correctly! I have Radeon 9800 XT and with Vista my Halo graphics blow.

In 1962 either Asimov or Bradbury (I think it was Bradbury, but I'm not sure) wrote a short story about just that thing.... I found it in 1978 right after I got my first TI35 ...

A janitor in the Pentagon figured out how to use his brains instead of "the pocket computer" and it turned into another Manhattan Project.

Evidently, lots of Microsoft customers have made their voices heard as Microsoft recently announced it will continue supporting XP longer than it had originally planned. Software compatibility is a big issue. Also, when XP first came out there were lots of problems initially but now it performs well for most who have it. Hopefully, in two or three years, Vista will be less power hungry and more compatible with various programs.

in two years Microsoft is going to be on a whole brand new os and vista is going to become a memory soon, I bet more xp users will still be around in 4 years than vista users

It's not the same OS and your statement makes you sound ignorant to everyone.

Also, if you want to speak of "security", take a look at Mac. Their software has more high impact security flaws than anything.

B'coz most of this forum is linux fanbois.

Ive just upgraded to vista and ill admit that vista is basically xp without the bugs with improved looks and a few extra functions.

MS have jigged everything around in where items are placed so it takes a little time to get used to where everything is.
