I heard that iPhone 3G is available in India too.. But none of the sources could lead me to the exact place where i can buy one! If anyone is from Delhi, can you please confirm this? I need an iPhone but seem to be unlucky in finding one.
I booked with airtel and vodafone already and they have no signs of releasing it till the end of august, and i can't wait!
They're the only operators which will have iPhone available in their network [afaik]. So, you'll have to wait.
I have no problem with any unlocked phone, where you can use a GSM sim card.. I heard that its there in Delhi, so wanted to confirm with people there!
Well iPhone is comming soon in India, I used iPhone because my Room-mate in Pune had that phone which is came from USA and he is using Airtel Sim Card with it. Few Mobile shop will setup the phone. Check mobile store to get more idea. He did in Mumbai.

If I were you, I'd purchase the iPhone 3G directly from Apple's website. Just have them ship it to you, that's all.
I have already booked through airtel but not yet any email or phonecall from them regarding same DON.
Why don't you try in ebay. Buy it from US sellers to be sure it's genuine. Avoid buying from sellers in Asia especially from China and Hong Kong.
If you were I, you would have checked whether apple really ships products to India or not Actually they don't.. and so Apple stores are being launched in India very soon(a few are opened already, but no info there!)
Well they are just booking it. Apple iPhones will come soon Indian market and I guess those people who didn't booked might get it first. You can search it on eBay, You might find it.
I read in TOI today that it will be available in India by the end of October. All the features will not be available though.......
