    Hello,
well i'm kind of new to adwords, and was wondering how long does it take for a campaign you set only for content network to start?

btw, am i the only one having a big delay when starting a campaign for content network only?

And what may I do to shorten the delay?

It may take 2-3 days and do not worry; it's normal for everyone.

After your account ages a bit, content campaigns can get rolling within a couple hours. Also, note that if you overload your content campaign with a lot of keywords (more than 5k), it may delay the process. Too many keywords gums up the process.

Like vesparich mentioned above, the delay will get shorter as your account ages. One of those things that you just need to patient with unfortunately:)

We got hosed on a huge Content Network campaign. We rolled out a big ad campaign and had been running search network only. After about a year of running search only, we got the nerve to jump this particular project into content network. We triggered the campaign and turned it on. We watched it daily (twice a day) as we set very high daily budget. Mind you, we were getting a 10%+ CTR on our ads for this particular little nugget. And, each click would convert to a sale about 2% of the time. So, we watched. 7 days passed, and we figured the content network was active (without checking) and was not yielding any major traffic influx.

We left this campaign on its own on a Friday morning.

Monday when we got back in the office, Google had blown our daily budget for Fri, Sat, Sun. With a HUGE $$ of budget burned, we were hammered. Our hope was to see that 10% CTR increase sales by the same ratio. Negative effect. It blew our CTR and ROI into the depths of the Marianas Trench. There was zero net effect on sales (as sales were nullified for the 3 day period due to budget being blown out in first 6 hours of each day).

Beware of content network. Approach with caution.

Google said it was due to being "approved" on Friday afternoon (the day we left). Why it took 7 days to see anything, I have no idea. Lesson learned.
