[Review] My Websites Layout [Please]

I am going to be adding content to my website soon. Finally getting up and going. However before I start. I would like to ask for opinions on my websites layout. I have been planning the website by myself and with my community forum for a long time now. So as you can tell I want to get this done perfect.

[Please only rate the layout, navigation. Not the content. As I have not added hardly any content and nothing is finalized.]

PokeProject Pokemon Website​

The website is on the niche Pokemon. Other Pokemon websites tend to be general three colnum layouts which as the navigation on the left, and buttons and links on the right with a banner. However as my website will contain unique content I thought I would step the layout up a little bit.

I went with a two column layout which as a different navigation method to other Pokemon websites. Please also note that I did not design the layout. I had a designer here design it, then I had a coder code it. I want the layout to have a more professional look rather then a fan based look. I am sure most of you know the difference.

Also. The blue square next to the heading is just temporarily. It will be replaced with a little icon that takes you back to the website index. Please give me opinions on the layout by judging the first page: http://www.pokeproject.net/ - Thanks in advance.

theme is nice but i think there are too many colors in pokemon series. but u use just grey and black. use more colors.

You mean make it colorful instead of plain?

Add more images? Can you give me more details where the images would be placed?

 

its tidy enough, but probably too dark for such a colourful game. blast some colours into your header maybe for a start.

 

Clean site, easy to navigate. I would change the background color of the main section of the site to a lighter color than gray, using a lighter background color would make the dark text easier to read.

 

everything is fine except for the dull colors, brighten it up a bit!

 

Just the color scheme then?

So you guys and gals think the web layout would be great if it had a better color scheme?

 

Your website is very simple but it actually load very quick, i like that! but maybe it doestn't attract more people with a anime site content

The layout is too dull to be talking about pokemon.

 

The colors are really dull grayscale is a horrible idea for a Pokemon site at least.

I suggest you add lots of colors because its a very unattractive design.

for the pokemon niche i don't think its a good idea to use black and white

i'd suggest you redo the colors and add more life to the design, use light colors and gradients like orange/blue/green and make the design fun and not monoton

the site is tidy, and yea just like everyone said, add some vibrant to your site, the banner is nice but its screaming for more bright colors experiement with some red, orange...or somewhere in between, you need some warm colors not cool colors

 

So if I was to add color and more colorful Pokemon images you guys would say it's a great layout?

I love the colors and I especially like the banner. Would there be anyway to make this banner with colorful colors?

The Pokemon in the banner is Beautifly. If you look at the origonal art of it. It is usually colorful.



Perhaps as this is our mascot. I could make the layout the same colors as the Pokemon, Blue, Red, Yellow.

There is also some grey in there.

Suggestions?
