I have a couple sites pushing 100k and they run 1000-2000 uniques a day. It depends a ton on the subject manner though, because some niches attract a higher percentage of alexa toolbar users (webmaster sites, etc)
yeah 2000/day sounds about right for top 100k... though I wouldn't really know the closest I have gotten is mid 300ks
I dont have the program... Accurate stats are preferred in my books and any site that displays inaccurate stats is not a quality site in my books. Im sure if you Google it you can find it.
i dont sure how it count my site with 11 visitor a day get 2.100.000 but other site have about 70 visitor a day but more less it get 2.300.000 alexa rank.
Exactly. If you have a website that promotes the toolbar, your Alexa will most likely raise a bit. If you have a website that promotes virgin browsers and clean toolbars, then chances are you will have a 2,000,000+ Alexis.
Yeah, the stats for Alexa can definitely be off a bit. I wish there was a more effective way of monitoring or ranking a website outside of it. Not to say Alexa isn't a handy tool, but I'm not 100% sure how they decide their rankings, some times seem higher than they should and vice a versa. Anybody been a hardcore fan of them and know the details? I'm aware links and traffic are a factor, but that applys to everything with ranking
Alexa is worthless, imo. Anybody buying websites based on Alexa ranking needs their head looking at. Its so easy to manipulate.
Alexa is generally a good indicator of a websites position in general. You can't really distinguish sites based on one being 64,628 and 64,629 but generally a site that is at 40k has more traffic than one at 80k, for example. Some people use it for the wrong reasons.
How can you determine if the traffic is valid, and not just automated by a alexa-based traffic generator?
Exactly. I have websites doing decent numbers each day, but its safe to say that there are sites with a better ranking with Alexa who don't have the same levels of legitimate traffic. Its a flawed system open to abuse.
